good luck with it.. ive always wanted to do a 92 talon to 98 talon conversion but besided engine first...

Man some of you Talon owners want to be eclipse's and some of you eclipse owners want to be talon's, can't you guys just make up your minds already:D.

I did a very extensive write-up on the talon to eclipse conversion... you could reference it and just reverse everything LOL.

Front end is simple, but rear end you will just have to drill some new holes and bolt or weld on new bumper mounting brackets where the talon's belong.

Here is my write-up. Sorry it is so lengthy, but it explains everything from locating the bolts you need to remove to rewiring the tail lights. Enjoy...

havent done or seen anyone actually do a conversion...by pics or vid...i asume it cant be that hard!? there is not cutting or anything is there? asuming that they make full carbon front talon bumper...would there be any nessasry cuttin? id hope not....anyone know of a good dealer that may make a carbon 2nd gen front clip?

I have a spare 2gb talon bumper in my storage, I'm always switching between eclipse and talon. I have to choose the eclipse though..

Eclipse to Talon rear conversion is a little harder than Talon to Eclipse conversion. Talon tails are taller than Eclipse ones, you'll need to remove the tail light brackets from your eclipse and have them re-welded lower or get mounting L brackets.

so when puttin on a new fron end of a talon on a eclipse...it would take a front clip, fenders? or does it only take the front clip? is there any nesasary cuttin on the bumper itself...or does it bolt directly on? i wouldnt wanna buy a carbon fiber talon front clip and have to pull a saw to it!

the front clip of a talon just looks so aggresive compared to a daily drive clipse!

The fenders are the same. Not sure what you mean by a front clip. The front bumpers are interchangeable and directly bolt on, the only difference is in the headlights.

Fyi,,"front clip" refers to a lot more than just a bumper. All you need is lights and the bumper.

Are the doors and door caps the same for both an Eclipse and Talon?

No, they aren't. It would help if you mentioned what year Eclipse you are converting to what year Talon or what year Talon you are converting to what year Eclipse.

There are 2Ga and 2Gb Talons, just like 2Ga and 2Gb Eclipses.

DGajre777 your the last of the last and you left to be an eclipse!!!traitor!!!!LOL ehh at least you still have the wing..1998s are rare!!

Yeah, I'm going for a one of a kind "confused" car, but it'll be what I always wanted!

I took all the side strakes out, I'm getting the holes filled/welded shut when I get new paint. As for the side starkes, I personally hated those. The 95-96 rear Talon bumpers don't have them, just the 97-98 which is why I'm going with the 95-96.

98 talon bumper is the way to go on a 95-96. i got my bumper at the paint shop right now. i also have the 98 high spoiler ready to be put on but im gonna keep the low spoiler as well and have a double stacked spoiler. i saw it once in the gallery on here and looked fresh.

TrboANTsi,,,I love your color combo....those are impossible to find around me.

ROFL All 95-96 Talon guys go for the 97-98 Talon rear bumpers. I must be the only one with a 98 to go with a 95-96 rear talon bumper.
