okai guys im a newbie here.i have a 1997 eclipse gst bone stock!my goal is to hit the low 400hp on pump gas.this is my DD and i plan to take it to the tracks once in a while.i need help finding a turbo and i have reviewed a couple like the 16g ,big 16g ,20g ,hx35 ,gt35r but still dont know which turbo(any kind) produces quick spool and hp..i need some advice fellow dsmers

IMO Max out a 16g first...they make good power while still spooling fast....if your not satisfied with the 16g then upgrade to the hx35 or gt35r

Whats the point of that? He won't get 400hp from a 16g on pump and then it would only cost him more money later on.

how is the hx35 on the 2gen??do anyof you guys know?

I'll bet you can search on "hx35" and find something. I'd link you to the results I get, but my browser does something strange when I paste a results link.

(is this hint too subtle?)

That "search" works like any other search engine (ie google) , you put it what your tring to find and and "whoop there it is". On a serious note this thread should be deleted or locked.

I think a good turbo to buy would be a Borg Warner S256. It seems not many people are using the BW turbos. I'm happy with my setup.

They are a good chunk of change though. I think you can get an FP 20g for like under $500 brand new (correct me if I am wrong). Depends on what the OP's budget is I guess. I like me some BW turbos though.

EvolutionDSM,

What kind of budget are you working with? No matter what turbo you get, you are going to need some supporting mods to get to 400whp.

I'm going to use this saying because I think it's pretty accurate: "Fast, reliable, cheap...you can only pick two."

I like the Holset HY-35 it has the same cold side as the HX-35 but a smaller 9cm hot side! They spool up pretty damn quick and should make 400hp easily IMO.
