While removing my tranny for clutch job I noticed some oil puddling from under the front case area. I removed my upper t belt cover for inspection and noticed what seems to be some build up on the belt. Now, the belt doesn't feel wet (oil on belt) but the belt doesnt look normal either. Any ideas?

From the pics it looks like oil is coming from the ofh gasket. Pics are attached for further inspection, also attached a pic of finger trying to remove my pass axle! Thank you fuel filter bracket!

Thanks

Yeah, brake cleaner is sweet. Clean up. Let it run. Examine it, I suggest wearing some eye wear. Belts throw things ie dirt debris. Please buy a nice pair of gloves. You would never know I even touched cars because of gloves/fast orange.

Do work sir.

That much wear on the backside of the timing belt tells me that either the idler or tensioner pulley isn't turning as freely as it should, causing the belt to slip over the pulley which is melting the belt a little.

its the only thing it can be in my opinion. really need to get a better eye/feel on it tho...

The thing is the t bet never feels wet at all. After hard drivng or anything. I think justin hit on the head about tension being a little too tight.

And yea, never was a fan of gloves until...NOW! Lol
