what engine do i have?

Ok so my car has the 4g63 6bolt, that i know for sure. Question is; is it a turbo block, year, and is it usdm or jdm? The filter housing looks like a 1990 and the coil is a 1990, but has 91 wiring to it, and has no tach pick up on coil like the 1990. Has red valve covers that say mitsubishi, and cyclone intake. Ok with that said block says 4g63 on it, so to me its an n/a block, but it has everything that a turbo engine has, not sure on the oil squirters or the pistons. Also the car was made in july 1990 and vin reads 1991. Also has 450cc injectors, and a 14b turbo when i got the car. Sorry i know its a lot, but what i want to know is the year, is it a turbo engine, and is it a jdm?

4g63 yes turbo possibly is jdm its japanese, is it a knock sensor on the back of it. Look there and see chances its a turbo. Any reason not to think its not a turbo.

Sounds like a jdm swap lets get some pictures of the engine bay and serial numbers on the turbo,and or pic of the turbo comressor wheel,and injector color.

You say 14b and 1g injectors but I want to make sure.

In a nutshell, look for the VIN.

yes there is a knock sensor, oil feed line from head to turbo and drain is factory into the pan. My compression ratios are all around 130-140, but the block only says 4g63 not 4g63t. Thats y I'm questioning if its a turbo block.

Serial number on block above trans is rusted over cant read it till i get it cleaned up. Number on the side of the block is 4g63 kk0973, if that helps. I know the turbo didn't come with it, i replaced it due to the one that came on it was trashed real bad, i can get the numbers of the original one tomorrow. Injectors are blue top, should be 450cc, not the yellow 510cc I've read the jdm engines have.

There is no 4g63T engine, they're all stamped 4g63.

Read through the link 19Eclipse90 posted and you should be good. If you are confused about anything in there just update this post with what you need help with.

On the transmission end off the motor, there is a VIN number stamped on the flat boss section of the block right above the transmission. If the VIN contains the letter "U", it's a turbo motor (esp if you got 450's and a 14B), if it's an "R", then you got an NT 4G63 motor.

If no VIN, you got a JDM like mine (It's a Galant VR4, 4G63 JDM motor with 510's and a B16G turbo) since I don't have the VIN stamp on my 4G63 block.

Yea I bought it that way, . And I just cleaned the rust off to find no stamp on it so, guess I have a jdm block.
