JDM? 6 bolt? 7bolt? what engine do I have?

hey, I got a JDM engine I bought from sunrise auto the receipt says it fits 91-94 dsm's but before they said it fits all 1g's, so anyway I bought a 1990 TSI shell and the wiring harnesses are different, 91-94 doesn't match the car, 1990 doesn't match the engine. I need help deciding exactly what engine I have because obviosly sunrise auto doesn't know. 6 bolt or 7 bolt? it has a red valve cover and yellow top injectors coma with tranny, transfer case and turbo/all accessories with 30k miles. What type engine do I have? the oilpan does not indent like the 7 bolt but my friend says it still is a 7 bolt, I'm confused as hell, any answers?

No one should be insulting anyone else regarless of what you do or dont know. The amount of fast cars or dsm's you have owned has nothing to do with your ability to help the community. If you dont want to help, dont post.

Your post count has nothing to do with being a wiseman either. It has to do with how helpful and knowledgeable you are. With less than 200 posts in the amount of time you have been here, you just havent put forth enough effort to help people in the same manner as a wiseman. Therefore, of course, you arent wiseman material. If you are as knowledgeable as you claim, why dont you try to be helpful instead of being an asshole. Dont expect me or anyone else to have any respect for you if you are going to be derogatory and not prove yourself.

Well, I didn't read all the posts, but the 6 bolt was from 89 to around May of 92. After that they were 7 bolt engines. The crank shaft end where the flywheel bolts on tells it all. It either has 6 bolt holes or 7 bolt holes. After going to Mitsu school and they didn't tell me the layout differences there either I bought an engine for my 92 which turned out to be a 7 bolt. Oh, well live and learn. BTW, it's been a good reliable trouble free engine.

I chose a 420A over a 4g63 for a reason. Probably why you chose to drop a 4g63 in a colt. I don't approve of that but you don't see me bitching, now do you?

dude i apologized for talking shit to you, but if you were closer i wouldn't mind showing you what a 4g63t mirage could do compared to a turbo 420a. dude don't take it so seriously, my friend had a turbo 420a i helped him put together. we took it too the track and he ran a 14.9-15.0's all night. i have respect for the 420a but from the money standpoint it's better to go wiht the 4g63t.

I think it has gotten back under control for now. Even as old as it is, it shouldnt get locked, it should just be moved to dead end threads.

i probably know him if he is a csm guy(not personally but thru the internet) next spring the mirage will have the upgrades i want then, i'll be happy to go for a fun run
