hey, I got a JDM engine I bought from sunrise auto the receipt says it fits 91-94 dsm's but before they said it fits all 1g's, so anyway I bought a 1990 TSI shell and the wiring harnesses are different, 91-94 doesn't match the car, 1990 doesn't match the engine. I need help deciding exactly what engine I have because obviosly sunrise auto doesn't know. 6 bolt or 7 bolt? it has a red valve cover and yellow top injectors coma with tranny, transfer case and turbo/all accessories with 30k miles. What type engine do I have? the oilpan does not indent like the 7 bolt but my friend says it still is a 7 bolt, I'm confused as hell, any answers?

This is the easiest way to find out what your engine is or if you can find out if it was built April 1992 or later it is a 7-bolt.
i know this thread is 2 years old, but it goes to show people don't know wtf they are talking about. 6/7 bolt has to do with the flywheel bolts
you can insult what you think are new guys, but if the new guy insults(lets say) vet member you can get banned. sorry you think i'm a moron or an idiot, i've had fast dsm's before it's nothing new. btw no need to
i will stay out the forums because i don't have enough posts to become a wiseman.
