whats up guys...i have a 90 eclipse gst stock but with little things done like boost gauge exhaust and intake filter. the recent owner rigged the head like he put bigger bolts in it and just ruined the head. so i decided to put a new one on. the head i got came off a 2nd gen 7 bolt and i replaced the valve seals and i cleaned and made it look better. i know how to put the head on and everything but the thing is i don't know if i have to use anything else off the 7 bolt. so if you guys can let me know what to use off the 7 bolt thats better then the 6 and what i have to use because of the 7 bolt head. thanks :dsm:

I don't think you are going to need anything else except the cam sensor has to be put in the head from the 1g to the 2g.

You are going to need to do something about the intake manifold. Either use the 2g intake, or cut the 2g head to match the 1g intake. I just posted a picture of mine before I cut the head's ports, and you can see the HUGE difference in the head port size vs. a 1g intake.

No, it is NOT alright to run a 1g intake on a 2g head unless you cut it. Here's a link to the thread with my picture:

What year 7 bolt head is it? Is it from a 93-94 7 bolt or 95- 7 bolt? If it is a 1g 7 bolt, it will bolt on without using any of the other 7 bolt parts. If it is from a 95 or newer, you will also need the 2g intake manifold or match port the head for a 1g intake manifold. You will also need to enlarge the head bolt holes on the 95- head to accomodate the 12mm head bolts of the 6 bolt motor.

Yoy really are a lot better off going with the 1g head, it flows a lot better than the 2g.
Stock for stock

1G = flows more = better top end
2G = flows better = better low end

thank you all..and just to get this right i would have to cut the 1st gen intake to match the 2nd gen head, and i should rather go with a 1st gen intake or a 2nd gen?

No, you don't port the 1G manifold because it's bigger than the 2G head. My suggestion is to stay with the same generation manifold/head, enlarging the 2G head to match the 1G manifold can actually hurt flow. Head porting is an art, it's not how much you port rather it's where you port.
