I don't think that was the issue, he's already used to SI units. The silly needle was in the way on the top one so it's not a literacy issue either. Just a difficult picture unless you zoom or look close.

I still have those Greddy gauges in use (The EGT and Boost that is). I still may have the OG paper work, I can go look through my stuff in the next couple days. Sensor->Brain box->Gauge. They have Peak/Hold feature as well as a warning, they came with a little tool to set the warning by pushing in warning button and dialing it to where you want to set it at.

Greddy still has the manuals on their website, not the best but at least a frame of reference.

oh I know, I'm just playing and I'm not illiterate, i do plenty of reading on the toilet.

Even though I'm in a country deep up metric's ass end, I still do 60% of my measurements in imperial unless I need the accuracy on a measuring tape of millimeters.

Anybody measured the distance when you can slide the pin in straight through?

So, if it can be verified, it looks like the pin hole alignment coincides with a measurement that falls in the range. If this is indeed true (I won't be able to test until much later, maybe @1990TSIAWDTALON can because I think his engine is still on the stand), then this is your shortcut.

9/64"'. I took all my covers back off, checked the grenade pin (all good) and measured with drill bits. 5/32" is too big and 1/8" is too small. I don't use the drill bit method but that is what it comes out to (9/64") if you use the drill bit method. Really nothing wrong with it if it is a smigin to snug rather than too loose.

228.6mm. I took all my covers back off, checked the grenade pin (all good) and measured with drill bits. 254mm is too big and 203.2mm is too small. I don't use the drill bit method but that is what it comes out to (228.6) if you use the drill bit method. Really nothing wrong with it if it is a smigin to snug rather than too loose, belts do and will stretch.

I'm not sure what flavor of math is going on here?

9/64" = 0.140625" * 25.4 = 3.571875 mm
5/32" = 0.15625" * 25.4 = 3.96875 mm
1/8" = 0.125" * 25.4 = 3.175 mm

FSM says 3.8 - 4.5 mm gap on a 6-bolt tensioner but it also expects that there isn't a wear dimple in the tensioner arm which would cause the pin in the tensioner to be extended more that the gap would suggest and reduce it's dynamic adjustment range.

How's that for kneecappin' ?

So, basically, anybody with any wear dimpling on the arm is already trying to adjust their tensioner outside of true declared spec, regardless of what their measured gap is. I wonder how many of us have perfect arms?
Could get the dimple filled by weld and ground flat, I suppose. Only those with a perfectly flat arm and set tension via the measured gap can actually say they followed the FSM then.

Damn, you guys are cracking me up and being informative, too.

Picked up some strut *cam* bolts to try and get a couple degrees of negative camber in this front end. 0 degrees sucks in the front. It's lowered on Tein S-Tech and KYB AGX.
Question, replace both bolts to kick it out far enough? What do you all think about 2* in the front? The rears have about 2.5 negative camber.
