Took it by the new home to see how things were coming along, looks like the windows are in and they're staging everything to put on the roof! Can't wait to start using that garage... ;)

Not many homes in AZ have basements, I thought it was weird too when I first started looking out here. I think it's got something to do with all the sand? :idontknow:

Hmmm, I find that weird too. I'm used to the typical bungalow with a basement.

I sure hope you have central a/c though! Wish I had that. LOL

It's got to do with the climate from what I understand, gofer. Here in Arizona, the freezeline is higher than say, in my hometown of Chicago. The colder the climate, the deeper lines and piping must be buried to prevent freezing. The footers, in turn, must also be poured to a deeper level. Doing all this makes it more economical to work a basement into the construction plans at a cheaper cost. Crawlspace construction is dirt cheap, and employed ad infinitum here in this Godforsaken dust bowl. I miss finished basements. Where I grew up, there weren't any houses WITHOUT basements. Congrats on the new home.

I went with an .018 gap.

I didn't want to gap large and have blow out issues.

It pulls fine at that gap so I'll open it up a little bit at a time.

I'm using the same plugs with a wider gap. They were about 28-32 (i forgot to check last time they were out) and they were blowing at around 6k but I also had,a bad plug wire so could haver been either.

Side note regapped them to around .24 and put black tape around plug wire and have not had a problem. didn't have a problem last drag strip run. Pushing 18psi on 14b.

Recently changed the clutch in my gf 2g awd, installed power slot rotors(for a,1g awd) on the front of my 2g fwd with hawk hp+ (also for 1g awd) and two 235/45/17s on the, front of my gst. Installed a,hbc in my cigaret try.

Next up is 7cm turbine housing From an ebay 16g i got for gas for driving to nc to give,a friend a few parts to use on his 90 awd, talon

I changed my oil for the first time since owning the car. I don't know what the previous owner was running, but I'm making the transition to synthetic. The car has 116k miles on it now, so I will be carefully monitoring the oil levels and watching for leaks. I started with a synthetic blend this time. May switch to full synthetic for the next change. Or do you think I should wait a few more changes?

I found out one thing: Eclipse oil filters are NARROW! Both oil filter wrenches I had were too big. Luckily, I got the filter off with my hands only, which says that the last person to change it didn't over-tighten, which is nice :)

for the 2nd day in the last 3 months i decided not to touch the car and actually rest

Finished pulling the dash and center console out..found some fried wires in my dash harness coming from my power window relays.. realized that fried wire ran all the way to the center of the car... :notgood:

other than that. . .drank some beer, pulled the fuel filter out. now to finish tearing down my 7 bolt :thumb:

went for a drive and now the car is covered in its own blood. i exploded the trans cooler line LOL but i could not ask to bust down i a better place

Drilled out the spot welds on the donor TSi's drive shaft hangers and cleaned them up. Dropped the fuel tank on the Spyder. Only thing left for tonight is to pull the GST's exhaust.

I'm AWD swapping my Spyder if that wasn't clear. The fun part of the build is coming as I'll get to begin assembling the back half very soon.

Pucker moment? WTF

Drove it to work today. Enjoyed the shit out of it.

TB Rebuild / Injector seals & O-Rings Saturday. That should be the last of the bazillion boost leaks.

On a positive note, the car runs shit####s better now.

Replaced V/C gasket today. Had a minor oil leak in the spark plug bay. Went to fix it and it was literally 10 times worse. This time I didn't over tighten.

Intake manifold gaskets, last one was installed backwards by previous owner, new plugs, he had autolites in there, NGKs now. Painted it black too.

ALSO found out that my car is a 6-bolt :)
