Cams are not easy to identify for obvious reasons...but if you think it's worth posting pics along with measurements and specs of the cams you're using, give it a shot.



I have these cams, they came in a head I bought. The guy said they were aftermarket and he did not know what kind... does anyone reconize these markings? Thank you very much for any help you can give, I want to sell them but I do not know what they are.

Take to your local machinist and ask them to measure out the cams. I don't know what else would be worth measuring besides lobe lift, but they would more than likely give you pointers on that. Then post up the results here

I have a set of cams in a 2g and its runs around 12vac last I checked and the exhaust note has the lopped sound to it. I was wondering if any of you can Id these cam to tell me if I am just crazy or they are after market cams.

They're stock camshafts unless they're regrinds. Regrinds are usually labeled behind the cam gears.

Ok Thanks! are there any specific numbers I am looking for behind the gears or will the vary depending on the company? Motor will be coming out this weekend so I can check them then.

Once you take off the gears, if they are regrinds they will usually be marked with what they are like 264,274,280 etc. But regrinds usually put some paint on the cams also which if yours doesn't have any paint on the actual cam, they are probly just stock, or a smaller company may have performed the regrinds.

I did check that number, but i am missing numbers to tell what it is on what you guys think about the k on the cams

Cant tell on the cam, it may be a regrind. But the turbo is a 16g.

i bought a used stroker motor the guy claim it had kelford cams in it too but i couldnt tell the difference either.. im guessing one way to find out is take out a lifter to see if there is a shim underneath it..

There is nothing just the lifter and rocket.

Those the stock 2g cams have a k on them like the pic.

Rotate the cams and look at the end on the timing belt side most companies inscribe something on that small spot. In your first pic it would be just to the left of the k and those two sets of dots.

you can tell it is a 16g because of the blades on the compressor wheel, they are stepped, 1 big 1 small etc..

Hello all! Ive searched for days for info reguarding these cams. Ive had no luck identifying them so thought Id try the experts. I got my head rebuilt and the shop told me there is no difference in 90-94 cams, which i know is not true. So Im kinda scared here. The cams have the marks B and G on each side And a serial # 207070118 etched on the ends. Any help would be great and thank you!

I have the same cams acquired in a trade. This guy also claimed they were Kelford's, I just dont know what size

That is a s16g turbo and those are factory can gears. I have the same set in my car. I'm 110 Percent sure

Looks like stock 2g cams and small 16g. To be sure for the cams, look at the the first journal on the cam, the thrust ring will have an engraving on it like 1tx-272(if they are 272's) Kelford marks every set of cams there.

The large K is a give away, stock cam, but as said before they maybe regrinds.

They are not "true" kelford brand cams. Now they could be Delta Regrinds, but would have a paint stripe on them.
