With proper turbo, fuel system, a good engine management
Unit.... and good tuning..

Yeah. Just because people have made 500-600hp on their stock 6 bolts doesn't mean it's for everyone. Most people making that much power are trying to prove a point or break a record, not because they have no other option.

Depends on if you can make 35psi of boost under 4k rpms.

To the op. If your realistic future plans don't have you pushing much more than 400whp, a stock 6-bolt, with all maintenance done is fine.

My plans are to have the engine rebuilt, right off the bat I have an EPROM ecu, evo 3 16g, exhaust mani, and a fmic. See I have always been an ls1 guy but my buddy talked me into getting a DSM. So I baought a 1st gen for 500$ with a bad valve. So I pulled the motor cleaned and am painting the front clip/ engine bay. I know absolutely nothing about them and am trying to make a fun DD. I am not going to run AC or power steering either. Here's what I started with.
