I am looking for a little more out of my GSX . Profile should be up to date minus the fp race manifold I just installed .Nitrous is off , we'll save that for later . Spraying # 7 meth nozzle around 10psi .I have a big 16 G that came with the car .Seams to build around 21psi at about 5000 rpms but then falls of to about 16 when reaching 6000 rpms . Did a boost leak check, seamed ok .Not sure about the miles on turbo ,could be an ebay junker . Will a tired turbo fall off like that? I would like to make around 425 hp without beating the death out of the turbo . What will the e3 16g do?I would rather not spend a fortune . Is porting worth it and what does clipped do? Would the 900$ fp turbo do what im looking for ? Thanks

If the turbo is blown you will be blowing smoke out of the exhaust. You could port the turbo and o2 housing for a couple of horsepower. a evo3 is good for an efficient 21 psi w/o meth injection but since you have it you could run more and advance your timing. But for your power goals just go with a bigger turbo fp green or red or an hx 35 or 40. Just the easiest way to gang what you are looking for.

I have had people tell me Im smoking alittle when I get on it . I thought I was still a little rich in my tune . Motor is new ,800 miles ,turbo ?.Is not being able to maintain pressure a sign of a bad turbo? Is this something you would pick up on a boost leak test?

No, blt is for boost leaks, turbo could have bad seals.

Making 425 horsepower out of that 16g is not going to happen. What do you have for fuel mods? Do you have a front mount intercooler? do you have a wideband?

Is there another way to determine whether the turbo is no good?

yes I know 425 is not gonna happen on the 16G .If I have to buy a new turbo thats what Im looking for . Walbro 255, 650 injectors ,yes fmic ,yes wideband , tuning to 12 afr with the meth injection .Also DSMlink
