I have no idea why, but my car pulls harder when I vent then when its recirculated. anyone else have any idea why? Mods are up to date.

Can you Post up a log for us?

What is a "JDM" block because it seems you are unaware that all 4g63 block are exactly the same for their corresponding year. You either have a 6 or 7 bolt, notion turbo o turbo block, nothing more than that.

I would think you are just having your mind play tricks you or maybe your line has major leak?

Your car Pulls harder with the BOV vented.....?

Your car shouldn't "Pull" any different whether or not your vented or recird..It should be closed the whole time your in boost.

Now if when your are recird and your recirc tube is leaking then that's another story. You would be drawing in un-metered air during boost through your intake tube resulting in a lean condition. Fix your leaks.

This doesnt make any damn sense. You have Link. Post a log.

If you just pulled the recirc tube off and didnt cap the hole on the intake, thus being a 'huge leak', the unmetered air would cause a lean state as stated. Every engine runs better and stronger 'hot' but will fail shortly (in a racing environment, you may get a month or so on the street. LOL).

I ran my fastest lap time ever and stuck the engine on the next lap due to a carb that wouldnt richen up with my on-course adjustments (needed a rebuild). Yeah the readout said i was running way too hot but in a race you dont give up. If youre not first youre last, LOL.

I had my bov venting and when i would shift my car would bog down. When i recirculated my car wouldnt bog down bc of that extra amount of richness and was alot better recirculated so it shouldnt make it faster vented

Again, the valve is closed during a pull. The only time it should open, is between shifts or when you let off throttle. A blow off is not going to ever, and any way shape or form effect the power your car is making. Ever. Unless its not working right, if the valves f'd up and its open during boost or something that thats an issue. But a good normal fuctioning one, will never have a bearing on power output.

if you havent covered up the recirc hole or air is leaking into the intake that is why. The intake is pulling in more air then it is seeing. I did this with my factory setup with the greddy type s for awhile. It made it pull faster but i didnt know if it would harm the car so i covered the area where the recirc used to go with duct tape. If your recirc return for the intake is not covered or is leaking some that is why it pulls harder with it vented

I put JDM block because my motor is from a JDM galant vr4 front clip. Its still a 6 bolt, and I have the Go fast bits BOV that can be recirculated and with a twist of the top goes to VTA. I will log and get back to all of you shortly, but yes it does feel faster without a doubt. I am not new to this and I have had my 1g gsx and 2gsx in the past so yea I am not a noob.

Yes this is true. We're just saying It sounds like hes getting unmeterd air like i and bsbllfit7 have stated. An engine running lean would explain the extra oomf.

Sorry Shane, but the number of dsm's you've had doesn't make you a knowledgeable dsm'er. Just because it feels faster doesn't mean its really faster. Having a log will tell if its actually faster or not, but I highly doubt it is.

I know ryuto, i actually changed it back to the chip so that i dont mess anything up in link, i just got the lc1 but not sure how to add it into link.

I want to see what the knock and timing look like with that hole opened up. Dont worry about the wideband, we just need a log. That will tell all. Before and after, and whether or not you left the recirc tube open or closed off.

I know man, I was just saying that to this guy here.

Haha that was some good stuff there ^^^

I should save that video for future use :)

You certainly sound like a noob with a retarded thread like this plus the fact that you dont understand THERE IS NO JDM 4g63 block.
Does anyone know the log video is from ren and stimpy?
