Faster spool than a Holset?

Nice thanks for the proof! This will be my next turbo for sure :) Spool is the same as evo16g basically, now this is the 8 blade hx35 right? I wonder how much different is the 7 blade in regards to spool time. Also are you running external off o2? or manifold? What manifold by the way?

EDIT: nevermind just read your profile, you have FP manifold and o2 recirculated wastegate, just wondering, but I'm assuming if you are running wastegate off o2 and is recirculated, did you have to remove the drivers side fan? I read not even a slim fan would fit in there.

I've run the 8blade. I've seen loads of 7blade spool times with logs, helping guys tune on the link forums. They spool a hair later. Bearly noticeable from what I've seen. But they also flow about the same at the same boost. They end up doing more when you're pushing them to the limit. beyond 52-53lb/min. This is over 500whp on a decent setup. The 7blade turbos seam to cost more, likely because they have higher compressor potential flow.

Yup tial off the o2 and I have had my drivers side fan out since the 16g.. It melted the blades pretty bad so I just took it out and I managed to fit the pass side stock fan with a little trimming to the shroud. If you look in the video you can see the car stays below the middle on temp in any weather... I love the turbo... Its nasty loud, It spools fast, its rediculously cheap to buy and rebuild, and can support 500hp... I love the holset so much I painted HOLSET on the fmic... Im going to repaint it after the weather breaks and rock it at the shoot out LOL..

Nice to hear viper, yea I plan on running off o2 running a tial MVS and I hope that will fit with my FALs. Also couldn't really hear the turbo spool in the video, but I have heard them and they sound really nice, to me it sounds better than a ball bearing turbo :hellyeah:

Once I see a good deal I plan on purchasing one, so if anyone has an hx35 for cheap pm me ;)

Ya its like 20 degrees so the windows stayed closed LOL... With the sunroof open all you hear is spool LOL.. Kinda sounds like a deisel truck out side...

Wow, I did not expect the hx-35 to be spoolin that fast. Very impressive!!
Thanks for the vid :hellyeah:
