I just blew my 14b & waiting on an EVOIII16g via UPS. I'm starting to think I should have just went bigger after reading this thread..

You will be happy with the Evo16G....

for a few months:D Then the crave for more power hit you really hard.:sneaky:

If budget allows, go BIG! For street, FP3065 or GT35R would do it.

16g is a great turbo. It will take you far. Good times, good power. Lots of people just get a big turbo without maxing out the previous turbo. Don't be worried about it. The Evo will be a great upgrade for you.

Edit: posted at the same time. The GT35R is a huge turbo.

Well to scottsee, don't regret it. You'll like that EVOIII. It is the best stepping stone turbo that I can think of. Not too much power but a lot of potential for good... and bad.

Think about it. You slap a 16g on your car. Now you have to upgrade everything. Clutch, injectors, datalogging, fuel control, FMIC, all in order to get the most outta that thing. Every mod you would do to enjoy a GT35R (for the most part) to get the most out of it applies to the 16g. And each step of the way you'll go faster. You'll learn a lot about your car with that turbo. You'll learn how to drive (not that you don't know how already) how to tune and how to fix it.

And then, you can build a new motor, and drop it in and break it in with that 16g. Drop in an upgraded tranny, suspension whatever, and you'll just get a little bit more fun every time.

Then when it comes time... you can get that big turbo. And all you have to get is a new manifold, injectors, turbo, and a wastegate (maybe a clutch). And you will be all ready for it cause you cut your teeth on that 16g that you maxed the heck out of. And your car will be ready for it cause you built it up trying to max out that 16g.

Trust me... if you look at it from that point of view, you wont regret it. :thumb:

Edit: Damn, three posts at the same time!!

If you want to avoid lag but have the flow capabilities of a GT35R, I stand by my recommendation of looking at AGP's GT3082R. Same compressor wheel as the "GT35R" mated to a GT30 exhaust side.

I went from an evo 3 16G to a PTE BB5031RLE (ball bearing 50 trim) and I haven't looked back since. Spools maybe 2-300 rpms slower (who cares really) and hits a lot harder than my 16G ever did. Both are similarly run at 21 psi. A few other good choices are the FP30 series turbos, bastard 16g, td06h 20g, or FPgreen.
