I watch that video a few times. He started moving at the 2nd light but the car never clear the beam for a red light. Near perfect run . Kudos. Stop the hating and go out and get an auto so you can do the same.

The red light is right there in the video; plain as day. Now that I look closer, there was no other driver, so I call BS.

3100lb 16G powered street-tire DSM thats only making enough power to Trap 118 MPH in that run
... Red-lighting and mental gymnastics aside, why is this even the remotest bit of debate?

He did not red light. That shows your experience at the track. the red light on the other side indicate a solo run. here is another video from silver dollar race way stop the video at 1:15 seconds and you will see when no car is in the opposing lane the light is automatically red:boring: if he had redlighted the red light under his side of the tree would have flashed!

That's the red light from a vacant lane. If he had relighted the red light under his side of the tree would have lit up;) You right that was a very nice pass!

I wish I could get a head start before my next pass!!! Might go 8s.

Still doesn't change the fact that he should have been red-lighted. The system errored even if you want to believe it didn't. The facts are there, and as for killercolt's comment, seriously dude you need to understand how the system works as you're off base.

Hating apparently now equals pointing out the facts. I'll gladly be listed a hater instead of being ignorant to the truth.

As to the OP, sorry man, it's a shame that the system screwed up on ya. But, I'm confident you'll run many low 11's in the future if you stick with it, especially when you start cutting real 60's. Congrats on a solid 11 second 16g car.

Say it right its not a shame its a crying shame yall are hating on that man!

Did you watch the video as we requested? Because if you did, and you still believe this....I don't even know what to say.

There is and has been no hate towards him, there has only been the facts pointed out that there was a timing error causing an unrealistic printout on a time slip. I have no issues with the guy, wished him well, and clearly stated things will go better for him in the future.

He started moving at the 2nd light but the car never clear the beam for a red light.

Please explain how that is possible (there is only one way that I know of).

Let's say that he averaged around 5 mph from a dead stop after being fully staged, to the speed he was moving when the light turned green. Based on the video timestamps, he traveled for about 1.12 seconds after full stage, before the green light. Given those numbers, he traveled roughly 8.2 feet between the last staging light and the green.

So... how is it possible to travel a little over 8 feet for 1.12 seconds after being fully staged and before the green light, without getting red-lighted?

Here is a hint:

Center hub to hub is a little over 8'

Or...

If you watch the video again you will see that the lights dont turn off untill the rear tires cross the beams.

;)

*****

And FWIW, I believe most (if not all) people posting here have given the guy kudos for a great run and fast car...regardless of the timing glitch.

I want to say that I think I chose the wrong words when I said "I call BS". I didn't mean anything against the OP by that. I don't beleive it was his fault the timing malfunctioned.
I'll say once again, nice pass.

For anyone who doesn't have the means to look at the video frame by frame I did the work for you.

Kudos on a great run and build nonetheless.

Wow. As much as I disagree and dislike Colt4G63 also, he pretty much laid it out for everyone frame by frame. The first thing I said when I saw the time slips was timing error. And then the video confirmed it. Most of the dsms in my area that run those traps are low 12 second and high 11 second cars.

Good job on running 11's with a small turbo. Still a hard feat for most folks. Good luck with your project. I for one would love to see a small turbo car actually go that fast. Get out and back it up.

Dont forget that the auto is going to soak up some and the mph is going to be lower than a 5-speed car. The mph for this car is actually pretty good for an auto. With the right stall and launch I dont see why this car cant be a 11.4-11.5 sec car.

I understand it is an auto, and how that mph goes down. I don't agree completely as a manually shifted auto car should keep the MPH up. Mine was setup that way and everything we ran through it showed a well setup auto car can still run 5 speed times and speeds. I built a FWD Eagle Summit last year.

As has been said, there is going to have to be some changes to actually acheive those kinds of times. The MPH is there, but nothing else about the build reflects the power it is making. Weight, tires and launch. But hopefully they work their bugs out and prove us how they get down in Georgia.

I'd like to see what the car can run when the 2x4 board under the car is removed. Or was is removed when the "boost leak" was discovered and slowed down to 11.80?

wow! Great idea. I will try doing that. Would be nice to cut a .90s 60ft so I can get a 9sec pass instead of a 10sec pass. LOL. Screw GTX turbo upgrade! I just need to set my car up like a hovercraft. Yeah!!! Better yet! I need a 60 feet hovercraft so I can 60 quicker than a John Force.

Now if you could just recognize that I'm never wrong, you wouldn't hate me so much. LOL

What happened to the vid?

Great running car though by the way. I agree with most here though, that 1.3 60' is just not physically possible with this set up. I'm not knocking you guys or anything. But anyone who's been dragging these cars long enough, knows how hard it is to run 1.60 on street tires, let alone a 1.3! That's a "God Like" 60' for street tires.

See now "Street tires" gets thrown around to loosly these days. See cause we had my buddies 16G 5speed car cutting consistant mid 1.5s on street tires. They where BFG 225-45-17 drag radials. So still a DOT radial tire. We still have more work to do cause it was cutting those times on a day with crappy track prep and we haven't worked the rear suspension.

I see you changed the original post. I am looking forward to seeing how this turns out for you guys. Keep us updated next time you go to the track.
