People keep saying twice ad much to break, but what about the fact you're going to break more in a 600hp motor than a 300hp motor, a lot less stress on each individual motor than 1 built motor. Can also run smaller turbos for quicker spool up on the street etc. Huge downside though is the added weight of all those extra parts

Exactly what I said and is so true! And its got to be a good balance and almost 50/50 weight distribution! the power to weight won't be amazing but it will have a bloody good amount of torque!

That's pretty neat! Would be interested in seeing how everything is tied together. Like does how have double gauges to watch the temps and oil pressure on both engines? Can they run independently of eachother? I'm assuming they can since he said he has 2- ECU's? But perhaps that is dependent on how he has the throttle cables fabbed up. How about things like the speed sensor? Does it just go off the one trans? LOL.. Lots of questions; but it is very fascinating! Looks like it was built well, too!

The throttle cable is linked by a custom linkage via the old cruise control unit! It seems like the best idea! I'm not sure if its a DD but I would imagine not! Then normal sensors would just be from the front! And only necessary gauges would run to the rear! He has a full list for what's on the rear on the link! Clicky and take a look its fab and the detail is great!

As for the drive! I'd think they run like a fwd and rwd car! With NO linkage drive between the 2? That's the way I'd run it anyway

fail.

With the time and money spent on that car. It could of been invested in a fully built single engine, less time, less money, less parts, less fluids, LESS EVERYTHANG.

Neat to look at, but the weight from twin engines and auto transmissions, really doesn't seem beneficial. Id rather have a modded TT 3si if I wanted something that heavy.

I saw this car (I'm assuming it's the same one...) run at the shootout in either '04 or '05. It was running 13's back then. I've got a bunch of pictures of it but they were taken with film so I have them in an actual photo album, not on my computer.

With two damn engines, that car needs to move a little faster than mid 10's for me to be interested. Fail.

Some of you have really unique attitudes.

Sad to see it's be vandalized.

The car was originally built by Vineet Singh, creator of the backup manual on CD, here in Chicago.
He sold it to Rev Hard Inc. in Rock Island and I'm guessing they sold it to the currently seller.

I agree but, clearly, this sort of thing generates haters.

It's an amazing car and an amazing project. omfgroflz FAIL:ohdamn:

Man I remember back when this was built. It's a piece of DSM history. Also the twin engine Tib was built by a shop, this was built in a mans f'in garage...

If I had money to throw at a car, I'm sure I'd have thought about it. But I seriously just don't see the real attraction of having 2 engines in the same car. Sure it's less stress, and it is very cool. Trying to think of how I want to word this...

It's a very unique idea, very cool that it does run mid 10's, but it's just not my cup of tea. Does that sound better?

Vinny was a regular contributor to the ATDSM yahoo group as well. I wondered when he was going to sell that thing. Too bad - a piece of DSM history right here. Alas, these new school DSMers just don't get it and only hate on it........*sigh*...where's that "Old School vs New School DSMer" thread.....

This actually got me thinking..if i ever had the money and custom fab skills i would try to convert at 2g gst or gsx into a mid-engine track car. But with only one engine. Dam now that would be amazing :D

Soo fresh and clean clean, I'd buy it. This was an older car but not the first twin engine, think of the olds with twin v8's(i think it was an olds). There was a drag version of the car for promo as well.

Here is a cell phone picture of an actual picture that I took at the 2004 Buschur Racing DSM Shootout. It was running 13's at the time (IIRC).

That was Vinny's DD at the time.

Makes sense then.

Don't get me wrong, its cool, but....just doesn't make sense to add weight, to make the power 1 built engine can make. 1g's are not light to begin with, and to add more weight just seems silly. Tis a great piece of dsm history, and an amazing build for a done at home build.

It is very unfortunate that it was broken into.

I love it! If I was made of money I would pay him to keep it, and then i'd build me one. Just to be able to sync 2 engines to push/pull 1 car is madness skills! Ok yeah there is a simple terminology behind it all, but really how many people have the patience, or skill to pull this off? Not many, hence why I dream of doing things like this :D

Sure. :)

Just out of curiosity, how fast do you expect a 640whp car to be? And how much power do you think you could make with two 18g's?
