Ok so here's my question. Its probly been answered many times, I just can't find a direct answer for it so if its been ansawered I apologize. Planning to turbo in the spring and want to know what tuning to use if I can't afford megasquirt. My setup will be 7 psi on stock internals, and I know the possible risks of this. Planning on a t3 turbo, around maybe a 50 trim, fmic, walbro 255 fuel pump, fcd, 12:1 fmu, boost and wideband gauges. If I can't swing megasquirt, what's the next best option? I also know if I get megasquirt I don't need the fmu, I need a 1:1 fpr instead from what I've read, I just don't want to do this untuned and want to know what my other options my be. Thanks to all and sorry again if this has een answered before.

If you have a 12:1 FMU, you won't need a way to tune. You could go one step better and get a SFMU which is an adjustable fmu. Ideally those are just band aids so you will want to save up for megasquirt or a porrfueler setup. I see MS units selling for $300-400 on 2gnt every once in a while.

Just get a wideband, monitor your AFR's, and keep the boost down for the time being if that's the case and you should be alright. Given the condition of your engine depends how long it'll last.

Yea no matter what I'm definately getting wideband. Ill have a total of six gauges, boost, wideband and fuel pressure I'm getting in the spring, oil pressure , temp nd voltage I have now. Got those for free located where the radio used to be. The other three will be pillar mounted
