Hahaaha yeah man I felt so stupid and like its simple but I guess it was one of those things, but we all learn from our mistakes, I was laughin for a good 5 minutes, but cant wait to install it the right way tomorrow and finally see what no boost creep feels like LOL)))

Enjoy it. BTW, we have a meet going down August 8, down in Ridley Creek State park. Check the tristate section and read up. Post if you are willing to have some fun!

I just figured it out today, and everyone will probably laugh at me ### its really really stupid, but it just so happens that my wastegate was installed on backwards. By that I mean where my exhaust manifold flange is I have bolted that up to the side where its supposed to be dumping from and the side that the spring is on to be pushed is just chillen right after my dump tube. It seemed right to me because it sits straight up when you install it like that, but I guess it is supposed to be in the laying down position so you cannot read the top of the wastegate when you open up the hood. The gases coming out from the manifold would than be able to push the right side of the wastegate and the spring would hold the boost, I guess it all makes sense but I just dont even know why I installed it the wrong way the first time, but today I was looking at it and I just started laughing at how stupid it was, but I will switch it around tomorrow hopefully I have anough room between my manifold and fans and let you know what happened. To everyone else does this sound like this was my issude the whole time although it seems pretty logical? Thanks

Oh man that's classic LOL.

Mine installed the right way though! I took it apart today actually and made sure the diaphragm wasn't ripped or anything and it's not.

I run mine on the o2 housing and I'm running a small 16g. When I installed the o2 housing/wastegate I removed the flapper like I should have and everything.

Could the wastegate passage in a s16g be too small to even flow enough through to the external tial 38mm?

I am sorry I did not read anything that came before this. You have a boost lag or what ever. You need to start looking into some porting. I was running a stock turbo with a 3 in. no cat and the oldman had some good info. He fixed my problem even with the stock 14b. so look around you wil find your answer.

So I was way too curious to find out what would happen and I worked on it last night and put it on the right way and bye bye boost creep after one year, I even went to the bar afterwards and celebrated with jager bombs and grey goose redbull all nightLOL))))))))). The car holds 8 when hooked up directly then i put the boost controller in ran it at 13 holds up fine I was just so happy. Now I got my FIC 750s eprom and wideband chillin in my garage and all i need is that dsmlink and fuel pump and im gonna be extremely happy LOL) but thanks to everyone who helped throughout
James Im def down for a meet but we should def have something before Aug 8th thats so far away if anything else is goin down Im always down to cruise chill with some DSMers.

Sounds good. The August 8 one is the big one. If you wanna party it up, thats cool too. :sneaky::thumb:

Pics would be very helpful. Are you running an external or internal wastegate/dumped o2 housing ?

For boost creep you will need to port the exhaust hosing. I'm running into the same problem with my setup. Also what wastgate are you running and what spring is inside.

just installed a 2.5 custom down pipe back exhaust and now i have boost levels of about 15 16 17 psi on my aftermarket gauge? anything i can to to stop the creep? the car is stock beside the exhaust and bs removed. what is to much for the head gasket?

some people find that external dump o2 housings can help boost creep alot.
Also you can port out the wastegaste opening in the turbo.

Your headgasket should be fine.

i had the same problem with my gsx i have the evo 3 16g and went with a megan 3" downpipe cat delete straight back and had creep from 20psi which i had it set at to 25psi...i have my turbo ported with 34mm flapper mod and still creeped so i bought an o2 dump from slow boy racing and it worked for awhile and i got creep again so i went with a tial 38mm external setup and its great no more creep bull crap

It's not uncommon for DSM's to be DD and run 20psi on the stock head. Your fine at 17psi you just need to upgrade that fuel system to keep up. Boost creep is curable by porting, just run a quick search on here and you'll find A LOT, even vfaq.com has a porting how to. Sorry I'd post the link but I'm incapable with my iPhone.

since nobody's going to chime in and help a little i will...
i ran this same basic setup when my car was a GST and had the EXACT same issue. I was running a stock t25 with a eIII o2 housing, 3" dp, cat delete test pipe, 3" exhaust with no creeping issues. (which is understandable with a t25) but i upgraded to a small 16g and i never saw WOT again, even after I ported everything as much as possible... frustrated i found someone selling a BEP hotside (bullseye performance) that works on TD05 turbos. its got a lot bigger internal wg flapper and the angle of the exhaust coming into it is shaped like it should be, not a 90 degree turn like on the factory hotside. I always wanted to see what would have happened if i just put my catalytic converter back in but I found that big BEP hotside before i got around to it so i can't honestly say if that will help or not. I think the problem lies with freeing up too much in the exhaust so the turbo just wants to creep from all that open exhaust. If i wouldn't have found that BEP housing my next move was to find an open dump o2 housing and then the stock cat if the o2 housing didn't help.

IMO running an external wg on a 16g is def. overkill and shouldn't be necessary.

im still getting boost creep after porting my wastegate hole and o2 dump i do not want to go external but i will if i have too is putting a cat on gona completly solve my problm without going external

I wouldn't port the hole, as it is way to easy to make it not seal anymore.

You needed to port the external part of the housing so that the flapper can open fully.

I would invest in a larger o2 housing as well.

i didnt port the hole just the inner walls around the hole so that the exhaust would flow better through it. i also ported behind the flapper so it could open to a full 90*. that didnt really do anything since the WGA only moves 1/2 inch and it still only about 1/3

i also unhooked the WGA arm alltogether so the flapper would easily open to 90* and it still crept i do not want to go external and ive done alot of porting in the last few days i also installed an open dump o2 housing

This might be a little off topic but i am planning to run a 16g as well and was wondering, i currently have a 3" downpipe. Will running a full 2.5" exhaust after the downpipe still be prone to the creep, assuming i already have an externally dumped o2 to help with the issue ?

I bought an evo III 16g turbo and recently put it on and have had nothing but issues with my car now. I had a evo III o2 housing on it and I was getting boost creep to 25+ pounds and then the car would start jerking around 5k rpms. I figured it was misfiring and put in new spark plugs. Didn't fix the problem. Put on new wires, didn't fix the problem. I work at an auto repair shop and we had some GM coils off of a blazer that I put on and it seemed to work fine for a day and then it started misfiring again when I would get boost creep at about 25 pounds around 5k rpm and up. So I'm not really sure what to do about that so I thought I would just fix the boost creep issue. I made a dump tube to come off the o2 housing so the wastegate would just dump into the atmostphere rather than into the exhaust. I take the car out for a run and it still boost creeps just like before. I tested the wastegate to see if it opens with a pressure test and it opens full. I thought then maybe my boost controller was bad, so I ran the turbo with just wastegate pressure and it sits at 10 pounds of boost but then once I get into the higher rpms, it starts creeping up to 25+ and starts misfiring again. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix these issues? I'm willing to try anything! Thanks.

I'm having the same issue at about 5k, it wants to misfire and then runs perfect..I though maybe my bov, so I have another, and new plugs, but have yet to install them..Misfires could be from an exhaust leak and air getting into exhaust and causing backfire..
