Ok I’ve been trolling all the old posts, and I figure I already know the answer to this, but I’ve got a BR 2.5 DP, Test pipe, and a 2.5 BR catback... after the install took it out for a run, and its response and SOTP power gains are great. I've backed out my MBC all the way, and I notice I get 11lbs of boost, till about 4k maybe 4.5k rpms, and then it slowly climbs. Eventually I’ll hit about 18lbs (1.15bar) of boost and it feels like someone shut off my car, and slammed on the brakes. (fuel cut?)

So I know I’m probably answering my question, but i have a feeling that all i can do is remove and port my exhaust inlet, and WG area. or get an external WG?

If it’s porting I’ve got to do, I’ll post progress pics as soon as i figure out if I’m going to do a big 16g or a small 16g. (I want to make sure I’m doing this right, because i don't want to remove the turbo more then i have to.)

I figure the problem is boost creep, but I’m wondering if this sounds like anything else? Would a boost leak cause this? I haven't done a boost leak test, but I’m going to be ordering a Boost tester from Mach V this weekend.

Thanks for any input on this subject.

A boost leak would cause the fuel cut. To get rid of that pesky boost creep, port out the wastegate and maybe get a bigger flapper...that should help a lot....i creep to 20 psi on my 14b so i just turned the controller up to 20 and tune from there :p

Lol turn to 20 and tune from there? I don't know if my motor could handle that ;)
Well, looks like i'm going to be light footed, until i can get ahold of a 16g and a die grinder, i don't want to grind away w/ my dremel :)

A 16g will only make matters worse.. what you need is to port out your wastegate and o2 housing...thats where you will see the biggest improvement.....or just get a o2 dump :p

Wouldn't i want to port the 16g wastegate area instead of my 14b? Because if i'm porting a turbo i don't wanna do it twice, although.... i bet the 14b would be good pratice :D

I'm running a 14b on a 7cm housing with stock size flapper door and mild porting of the WG hole. I have a tubular 02 dump, and full 2.5" and zero creep. I'd either get a dump or port the hell outta the stock o2 housing, the WG isn't your issue.

His fuel cut is caused by the 18psi he is running. A boost leak can do that as well, but more than likely, it's the 18psi. I'd like to know how you run 20psi on a 14b and pump gas all the time without knocking.

A boost leak at 10 psi can cause fuel cut, but im sure you know that....he asked if a boost leak could cause that and i said yes.....i dont run pump gas, i run 114-118 all the time...if i have to run pump gas for some weird crazy reason, ill dial it down and re tune it
