Can someone inform me why the TPS in this link is 20 bucks but on extremepsi it's $200? Is there something I'm missing...

Crazy that OEM would make that much of a steep difference. Any recommendations on where to get it used? I'm on the FB groups but specific parts are few and far between sometimes. Google? The $30 is a cheap Chinese sensor while the $200 part is OEM. I’d buy a used OEM one for $40-50 before I’d buy that new one for $30
The car will barely stay on. I replaced the old battery and still idles very weakly. It dies after a few seconds in gear and needs gas at idle for the most part. Starter, relay and alternator are all fine. Before you go buy one what is it that's wrong?
With all due respect the things you've asked thus far have been pretty basic. Just want to make sure you're not throwing money away.
Perfect. I personally don't suggest throwing parts at it. Expensive way to diagnose. Do you have any codes? What have you physically checked? Have you set the base idle? The car will barely stay on. And sure, some of it will be basic. That is why the newbie forum exists. Some of us are just getting started with working on DSMs
No codes, the old TPS is pretty loose and I ruled out the other 3 basics so I just figured the next thing was the TPS. Not sure about base idle I have not heard of that before honestly. We're here to help just fill us on a little.
Listed in my other comment the starter starter relay and alternator, okWhat other 3 basics?
As far as idle, yes you must adjust base idle. If anybody fiddles with it or something goes wrong with idle control then the car won't idle right. Yiu will need to verify idle control and I would check for vacuum leaks also.
Scratch that I just tried with the new battery. Yes it keeps runningWhat about if you unplug the tps? Does it stay running?
Thanks! Very helpfulAgree with Paul. At least before ordering another TPS, you should inspect yours first.

Yes I didn't find anything on the site. I can't help but notice how many people say this to new users, I understand it can be repetitive but it clearly states on this website that that is the entire point of newbie forum. Not trying to be a dick but these replies ain't helpful in any way why would I ask if I found it elsewhere? And yes I'm going to look on Google.I'm not trying to be that person but have you even tried looking it up?
Not on the site, I said I'm using google now. Before you ask I checked the site first for any additional information that google couldn't tell me off the bat on how to measure resistance step by step. I've never done that before, we all start somewhereSo your telling you found nothing on how to measure resistance on a tps sensor?
Yeah I get it. I myself didn't find anything on resistance measuring for the TPS on this site yet But I understand where u coming fromRepetitive creates clutter that most of the time never gets a resolved answer. Yes I understand you have never done this before but come on I just typed in resistance for tps and there's bunches of good results. Like I mentioned I'm not trying to be that guy. But to encourage you too look further on here befor filling up forums with the same questions. You know what I mean?
