Time for a new clutch?

I got a 93 gsx. the clutch in the car seems to be to the floor. it shifts fine minus the slop in the shifter but when i hit 3rd gear hard i feel it slip a little. is this the clutch or could it be something else. like the slave. thanks

Could be the clutch, but start with the simple things first.

I would start off by checking your clutch pedal freeplay and making sure that it is within spec.

Also, please fill out the mods section in your profile, if you have alot of mods(250+whp), the stock clutch will start to slip.

You should get a shop manual.

At least get a haynes or chilton for your car. They are cheap and will help you drastically with repairs.

Take it out on the highway and gas it in 5th gear. If the clutch is slipping, thats when it should go, in higher gears.
