ticking in the top end

so i got this ticking coming from my top end. and its worrying me...... it has oil. doesnt burn any. oil pressure gauge isnt working anymore. when i first got the car, just last week it worked a little bit now nothing. so is it possible im not getting enough oil to the top end or is the ticking semi normal?

While the motor is idling, take the cap off. If you see oil swishing around inside, you're getting oil to the head.

You can have plenty of oil and still have tick if one lifter or some lifters are getting tired and can't hold pressure anymore. Some cars, it's normal to have a little tick until oil pressure builds up to fill the lifters.

I'd best in looking on getting that sending unit replaced that runs the gauge, or check for wire connection going to it...

where does the pressure gauge connect to the engine. and where would i find the sending unit? ill get on that this week

The sending unit is attached to your oil filter housing, should be facing twards the fire wall.

are they original lifters? If so, maybe consider upgrading to the revised lifters, which use the bigger 3mm oil channel (as opposed to the original ones which were about 1 or 1.5 mm) Better oil flow = no tick

Dude, most dsms have the famous "Lifter tick".. Crazy you haven't heard about it..

It's just a ticking.. The oil holes on the stock lifters are so small, so most of us replace them with the 3g revised lifters. This isn't hurting anything,..

Pick up a set of these.

Yep, just make sure the lifters are fully bled out ... many accidental valve bending can happen with new lifters that haven't been bled completely...
