do you think there will be helmets to rent? Not a lot of us really do this thing more than once a year tops. Last year I ran just time trials and they didn't bother me about not having a helmet, but this year both my girlfriend and I want to try and compete in either stock appearing or street eliminator. It would be nice if there was a location to rent out some helmets for the day to keep everyone safe. I'm sure racing helmets aren't cheap. Thanks for posting the info so far in advance though!

You can get a real nice helmet for 250$ and will last you for many years. I use a snowmobile snowcross race helmet so it has many uses.. Its a worth while investment to have around..
Yea for how hot the shootout is sometimes I would not want to share a helmet thats just nasty..

Because you know, its always a good idea to cheap out on safety equipment, especially something thats going to save your head in the event things go bad.

You can find older model clearanced Snell approved ones on Fleabay....got two for $100 each and they are Snell 2005 models that were display units. VERY nice Impact Racing (made by Simpson). Something good from Fleabay for a change.

Like I said it's not something I do everyday. My car has full interior and seat belts I don't anticipate anything crazy. Used Is definitely what I'll be looking for. A helmet isn't exactly something that loses function with age. I have a motorcycle helmet will that work?

Motorcycle helmet will work as long as it's properly approved (SNELL above a certain time and DOT for everything else) from what I recall.

In order to be NHRA-legal the helmet must be rated Snell 2005 or newer. Simple. Dave's safety requirements are already dangerous enough as it is. Why is the helmet rule even being discussed?

I would love to be able to make it, but maybe next year. I may have over looked it, but is there a class that full street (full interior,A/c ,p.s, cruise all seats ) that arepowered by a turturbocharged 420a can run in?
Also Is meth/water legal?

The 420a is not going to be competitive (my guess) in any of the heads up classes. I'd recommend running Bracket.

Pretty cheap safety equipment that will never go bad, and if things go bad you will be glad you had it. Always trying to help. Fleebay is not the place for our parts but on safety equipment, I was very happy with my Impact Helmets (and found out they were a Simpson knock off brand)!

PS, you can pick up a cheap Balaclava (head cover) like we use, and NOT have that nasty flea infested helmet, just wash your head cover after using your helmet and it keeps it fresh and like new.
