Man! You guys are making me anxious to get in gear myself. We had a thrill of a 50+ degree day yesterday and mid 40's today, the tracks could've been open! Still trying to rent out or sell our house, we've had some prospective renters but we're still looking. It's not exactly a prime neighborhood for real estate but the market is picking up apparently. We finished our taxes so we'll have a bit to get us through paying both rent and a mortgage for a while. If/when we get that figured out I'll be back on the car fund. I know for sure I need to figure out the head situation, but I also want to look at that block and figure out if it's healthy enough for a season. I miss my car :cry:
 
My 92 red streetcar is now running/driving and should make it to inspection tomorrow morning. After it has a valid 2yr inspection sticker, the modifications and tuning can start! Right now on stock fuel pump/390cc injectors I can only run about 13-14psi boost before it starts to lean out @ 6krpm into the 12's. Also the stock 1g maf (unhacked) starts to get flakey and over-run about the same rpm, so Im forced to use the maf-clamp feature to keep it running smooth.

seriously cannot wait to get the inspection over with so I have the freedom to mod and tune it.

I'v also got a plan to swap hubs with my GVR4 buddy nelson (his brick went 9.3@147). He bought a set of 5lug volk wheels so he needs to put 5lug DSM hubs on his race car now. So Im going to use his original GVR4 4lug hubs on my streetcar along with a set of his 17" street wheels. This will allow me to bolt up my 4lug Volk CE28N's & MT slicks to the streetcar when I go to the track! should work out nice being able to use my racing wheels on both cars since they will both have 4lug hubs. The yellow talon was converted to 4lug hubs last year when I got the 4lug Volk wheels. So looks like both of my 1g's will be sporting 4lug GVR4 hubs! weird.

March 10th is getting closer, that's when Island Dragway is supposed to open. I really hope I'v got the car in good shape to make passes and have some fun.
 
I have a 14b on my 6bolt swap with 450's and a 255 wally and stock fpr bout to buy dsm link and was wondering what injectors i should go with to be wantin to push 18 to 19 lbs i was think bout 680's is that to much or could i get a route someone else would go with any ideas would be greatly appreciated

With DSMlink there is no such thing as too much injector. Do you plan on staying with the 14b and pump gas or do you have plans in the future for a larger turbo and/or e-85? Keep these things in mind when shopping for injectors.
 
i plan on stayin with the 14b and 93 right now i just want a fast daily driver that has some reliabilty id be wanting to have my dual sstage boost controller hooked up so i can switch between like 8 to 19 lbs
 
Buy the biggest injector you can afford. No reason not to honestly. If you can get 850's for the price of 680's, why not do it? With DSMLink, there is no downside to running a larger injector over a smaller one.
 
Just letting everyone know, I installed a 14b on my car and I ll be gunning for the record. No nitrous, 5 speed all wheel drive. March 11th is the date.

So, you're looking to run 10.86 or better?

*10.87* is the all time record, and truthfully, as I've stated before, at least from my vantage point at 11.49....that is the ONLY 14b record. It just so happens that it's a FWD car that holds it. I once held the overall record at 12.02. I was THE quickest 14b powered DSM at the time. I held the RECORD.

To me, there is ONE RECORD. It's the quickest 14b powered DSM, which still to this day is Bucci's 10.87.

We've beaten this to death, but, this is my opinion. Some want to break it down into segments...which actually gives me a bit more credit....but, I'm not one of them.

So, I guess you're out to beat my time of 11.49. I'm the AWD 5 speed 14b RECORD HOLDER:hmm:

totally agree! This doesn't need to get segmented down to FWD/AWD Stick/Auto ...the record is 10.87 and that's the only thing worth much. seriously, nothing annoys me more than knowing a FWD car has still handed us our asses, it's bothered me for nearly a decade now!

Granted, I'v always been after the 10.60 more than the 10.86 :sneaky:

Im going to try and get out march 10th or 11th as well, but the 14b awd auto car I'll be running is a full street car, absolutely no chance at any records at 2800lb.


Mr4G: So whats the details on the setup? What's different than most of us?
 
Im hoping to get well into the 12's next saturday hopefully that is. Ran 13.29 In just about stock everything but Cyclone intake and exhaust. Still had stock injectors.....Surprised motor didnt go boom:) Now im running with whats in my profile and running half tank of E85:) Gonna try to get a vrsf fmic but I shall see if my tax return comes in intime
 
Wow, tough crowd!! Like I said All wheel drive, 5 speed. I ll post my setup if I am able to break the record. Hope I can find something better then street tires to make my passes on.
 
Like I said I was going for the awd record. As for some of you thinking I must be funny, to combat that here is my setup:
complete g4cs 2.4 stroker
tuned with dsmlink v2.5 utilizing a 2g mas
680cc injectors along with dual walbros
extrude honed 1g intake manifold
Ksport gt pro coilovers
lexan windows
no interior besides dashboard and drivers seat
and so on and so on.
It seems like a lot of you like to think this is a joke or something? What is there no support anymore these days?
