Ok man, just figured I'd offer it to you first. Good luck.
I do appreciate the offer, and I still may need to buy another head. Will know for sure after I hear results of teardown from machine shop on my first head. I just wanted to explain that Im not "giving up" on racing or the records, but that my budget and time constraints are forcing me to make the choice:
Go to the shootout with a half-assed, untuned, non-competative setup and stretch my budget to make it out to the race. I'd make it to the race and have niether a shop at the records or of running well in the DST class.
OR
Spend what little I had planned on for travel costs on fixing the car properly and increasing the chances that maybe one of the 4 records will be in reach this season.
Unfortunately, I just don't have the budget to do everything this year, and I guess Im going to choose to stay home from the shootout and save the travel costs since Im in no shape to run well at this point. I can flounder around just as well at my local track.

And I know what you mean with the seat time and motivation. You definetely need to have seat time to help with the driving, and because it's fun, the motivation follows. Good luck!
. I have alot of tuning to do. I've been having an issue with a film building on my plugs and then I'm getting knock. I switched to a set colder plugs and it seems better after the track outing but I'm not positive what it's from. The best/worst guess is a possible HG issue with a little moisture getting in there since it's a whitish/ash film. The other is too hot a plug being I was running 6's. Let's hope for the latter. I'm going to retorque the ARP's just in case, I need to pull the valve cover off due to a little leakage anyways. That and I've never done a boost leak test after the fmic install, which could be important. Pretty much just being too lazy and busy with life.
Its been a long long time since I've run a 14b so I'm not sure what to expect
