Congrats on breaking the 11sec barrier Jose. Especially on street tires. Took me slicks to cut those times

Shook the cobwebs off QUICK!
Congrats!
. Once you get up to the burn out pit, its pretty much instinct. But I had been at this track about two years prior with Nathan. When I first got back to the states. Even though I knew my car was in a poor state(due to the ecu I would later find out) just wanted to have some fun for old times sake. Still managed to get 13.4 with the car dropping 2 cylinders periodically.Nice! Welcome to the club.

Huge Congrats Jose!!! Really wish I could have been there!
There will be no chop busting here Jose. Those are some sick 60's for any street tires, much less something on 18's! The list of 11 second 14b cars is short, and the list for those on street tires is way short, good job man. I'm sad to hear about your health, get well man.
Just for clarification did you only get the two passes in?
You really need to start your own thread too, you deserve the recognition outside the 14b thread too! Especially since alot of guys recognize your name from "back in the day".
Well, it's great to see another 14b car in the 11's, glad you hit it Jose, and in only two passes! Hopefully you'll get another shot at it soon. I hope whatever you are dealing with medically sees itself through. Don't be a stranger!
And, Justin, good luck this weekend at snapping that 11.0 wall in half! Seems like you've got a few new additions to help the effort. I'll be at the track too, but, turning corners, in Archer Racing Talon #34.

Just got back from the track, 2:45am. What a long a$$ drive.
11.88 @ 112
Will throw up the slip whenever I get up.
Thanks Phil. Looking forward to the future when I can devote some quality time to the car.Well, it's great to see another 14b car in the 11's, glad you hit it Jose, and in only two passes! That is my old time. If you look at my profile you will see the link to my slip and a vid of that run. Somewhere along the way my name and this Tommy Watkins got transposed. I wrote them about it several times, but they never fixed it. So that old time can come off the list.Quick question, your old time of 12.17 @ 111.94 - There's a time on dsmtimes.org listed under Tommy Watkins that's identical. Is this the same car by any chance?
It becomes extremely difficult once you get into anyone not in the 11's. I know Mr. Peepers "Matt" ran a 12.0? at one point. I know another personal friend who ran a 12.2 a long time ago. Too many folks ran quicker setups later so their 14b entries were erased.
Any chance you'll be taking some video?
Look on the gvr4 list too. I went 12.0 in the "box car" 4dr with the 14b. I'll look for slips.
Thanks Phil. Looking forward to the future when I can devote some quality time to the car.
Good luck this weekend Phil. I know you'll have a blast this weekend. I wanna see a bunch of pics and some vids come Monday.
Thanks guys! I load up tonight and looking forward to tomorrow. I'll keep you guys updated somehow.
Good luck to Justin in the straight line...and Phil doing some carving! Glad to see the DSM being represented in different motorsports!

Thanks btw! It was a good day.....details soon in RR forum.
Where's the update Justin???
I'll have them when I get to a computer. Lots of stuff to type up. No 10s but lots of runs, broken axle, and 3 new personal best. All with the DA being 1000ft more than last time. So it was 6200-6600 ft all day and temp between 71-76 degrees. I'll update my build thread.
This car for what it is, all I can say its a monster. I'm learning new things and this thing will destroy the 14b record when I get the setup corrected.
Why must you only give us a little teaser and then make us wait? Lol! Good to hear Justin! Won't be much longer til that record falls!
Eventful day then.
No doubt it will.
However, you won't be able to say it was easy.
At this point, if you want the record this year, I'd say another trip to the same track is probably a waste.
I say just get down to sea level and lay it to rest. But, that's my thought. All the DA altitude stuff is pretty irrelevant because it's down to what the time slip says in the end.
It was a long day and way to much typing to do on my phone. I'll get to is very soon.
The anxiety of knowing the car will break the record getting to you??
I'm in no hurry to get that record. Every trip to the track has been a positive move forward. High or low elevation it doesn't matter. So it really hadn't been a waste. I'm not just running to chase a record. I'm out to perfect my setup.
After this weekend I have a lot of things to address on the car. You bet I'll be running again at the local track. Your doubt Phil motivates me even more to show you this car will run at least a 10.87 at my local high elevation track.

this thing will destroy the 14b record when I get the setup corrected.
This is funny
Anxiety? Hardly.
I was already a 14b record holder, before Joe Bucci, and a long time before you were around, 12 years ago. No anxiety then, no anxiety now. But, I WAS the record holder.
Currently, your 2nd quickest, but, not a record holder, period.
Let me remind you:
''92 GST Stealing 14b record build''
&
And ^ ''I'm not just running to chase a record''
Contradiction...hmmmm.
Also, I don't have any doubt about anything. To think you can't hit 10.86 while you're currently at 11.0....
In the end, I don't care about anything but the ET printed on a timeslip. All the other variables don't mean a thing.
Getting the set up right is *part* of chasing the record, but, after this statement, for you to say it's your main focus .... I think not.

You were the record holder, but Justin's gone quite a bit quicker than you did. Period. You said yourself the timeslip is all that matters.
