Figured I'd be conservative since he hasn't run in such a long time.

I'm sure he'll be mid 11's before the year is out.

I was gonna say, its kinda like riding a bike. You just dont forget. 11s-12s it dont matter. Glad to see another 14B car hitting the track this year.

What rubber will you be running on Jose?

Finally ordered the clutch stuff, 4 puck unsprung to set in my 2600. After it arrives I should have the car back together in no-time and be able to start breaking it in. Here's hoping all my wire hacking didn't screw anything up ha ha!

Let me know how you end up liking the 4 puck. Wiring can be a freaking mess. But im sure you got it all sorted out.

I would be happy with that, especially since it has been so long.

It will be the same rubber I always have on the car, Falken Ziex. Since it is a track built car, I have 18's for clearing my brakes and the wide foot print. I was running the same 18's and street tires when I went 12.1

Just got an e-mail from Dave at ECMTuning with some awesome news. Their diagnosis is the exact two issues I was having trouble with on the car. "Inoperative are one ignition output (only able to run an engine on two cylinders) and one ISC track (idle control)."

So hopefully when that is repaired I can having her running like she was.

Also, want to give a shout out to Nathan (9!'clipseDOHC) for letting borrow some coil packs to help diagnosis the electrical issues that were plaguing the car. Glad It has finally been proven that it was the ECU.

I will be honest and say, I am getting excited now.

When do you plan to maybe see the track next??

I'm glad to hear the ECU was the problem and that its getting fixed!!! Let me know when you are coming down and hopefully we can both get some passes in. My DSM is just about ready to rock! The only thing holding it up is mounting the submarine belt on my 5-point harness, do I just bolt it through the floor??

With me I always have real small windows to get things done due to the military. So when I get the computer back and sort thru the wiring some(pulled out due to trying to find my electrical issue) then I should be good to go. Like Phil stated I just need a couple Test & Tune nights to get back into the swing of things. When I said I was getting excited it is mainly because I am excited of the thought of getting the car into the 11's. I always knew it had it in it, even with my heavier than normal Circuit/track prepped weight adders.

So to answer your question, my window this time is until April 19th. Then after that I will be out of pocket again, no telling for how long.

Thanks again Nathan. I will give you a heads up when I head down to the track.

On the submarine belt, thru the floor is fairly standard. Just try to find a way to reinforce the floor a little since it is so thin. A welded in plate or some fat diameter washers on both sides. A little ghetto I know, but functional.

.

Well, there's a good goal for you then, beat my 11.812 on street tires :thumb: Maybe that'll give me motivation to give the ol street tires another go. Any plans for trying out some slicks? I didn't realize just how much they were going to be worth until I did my first run on them, with a .05 advantage in the sixty I went .24 quicker in the 1/4 on my very first run!

As for the submarine belt, Nate, that's how I did mine in my old car with a big washer underneath. But, I never ran it at the track and I'd check the rulebooks first maybe.

My sub belt is in there with body washers.

Well that settles that! I'll get that taken care of this weekend and I'll be ready to hit the track when you come down Jose! Thanks guys!

That is awesome to know about your street tire time. If I could hit something like that would be awesome. Giving slicks a shot is really not in the cards. I don't have much time and both sets of racing wheels I have are 18's and are already really close to the calipers and rotors. Plus my 60's were not too bad when I raced last. Few high 1.5s and consistent low 1.6s

Then it's on. Car should be ready in a couple weeks.

Sounds like it was a good track day to get some things sorted. Doesn't sound like that's going to be the track to break into the 10's at though. But, props for getting out there again. I can't wait for a few more degree's of warmth here so we can get going too!

Ran a few times today at our higher elevation track. Had fun and left an update on my linked build thread. Got the NLTS down pretty good now and getting the shift points down.

Looking good Justin. Has me a little concern about trying to lay down some decent numbers at the track closest to me. It sits at 4k feet, which is similiar to yours. Your high altitude track seems to be limiting the cars potential.

Right now I am planning to hit the Test & Tune on the 29th. So long as my computer gets here in time. My main focus will be getting back into the groove of things. Mainly finding my right tire pressure, boost, fuel trim and shift points.

10s might be hard pressed. I know there is more left in the car. Im going to play around at this track over the summer on the cool nights that we have. As long as I can make more forward progress.

A decent effort at that track. But, damn that track sucks the life right outta your car....

Just do Sac is my opinion....

Ya I agree that sac is my option. I was glad to get out and get the seat time and get more nlts practice. I think I can knock a couple tenths off the 11.2 time in fallon.

Having this handicap of a track really get me to learn to drive. I have to push so hard to get the best times I can.

Well good luck on the 29th. We will be waiting for updates. Im sure it wont take you long to get back into the groove.

Got my computer back from ECM last night. Put it in along with a new 275 cca battery(insert laughs here) and wow what sweet music she makes. I did not know how horribly the car was running until I heard how good it sounds with all four firing properly.

So now just need to do a few things around the car and have it ready for Friday nights Test & Tune.

If I get it out of the garage tonight I will snap a pic or two. I dont think I have taken any pictures of the car since all my weight reduction has been completed.

Thanks guys.

She's Alive!!

You can see from this shot I have tinted the Lexan windows, to stay with the somewhat stealthy appearance. Brandon aka. 1SloEvo was curious sometime back to see what it looked like.

The front bumper just attaches with zip-ties.

Jose, plain and simple, the car is just awesome:hellyeah:

Jose, you and Nathan make me wish I had a white 1ga, so clean! Rip it up out there!

On another note I spent two days searching for my clutch alignment tool, and a large part of another day trying to find my friends in his garage with him. Unbelievably we never came up with either of them. Clutch waits til next week I guess.

I have like 5 or 6 of them if you need one. It's just the disc alignment tool right?

There's something about a panda 1ga. I picked up one for a street car. Nowhere near as clean as Jose's.

Clean? You must be talking about a different Nathan... Lol! All the sanding I did on the Evo's bumper appears to have landed on the Eclipse. That's ok, just needs a wash.

I already told Jose but I won't be able to make it to the drags this Friday due to a schedule change at work :(

(I've been off the site for a little bit ):

Excellent news!

Great that the seat time is not going to waste. One nice thing about a slow track is that you have to concentrate more on what you are doing to squeeze times out. Helps to keep you focused.

Imo, good progress.

When I started searching for a '90-'91 Talon TSi AWD back in the summer of '96, I wanted a white one first and foremost. However, when I found my red one with only 38k, one owner, I couldn't resist. And, I guess I got a strong runner.
:D

But, I do still love me a white 1ga Talon!
