Thanks Shane and Brandon. I'm finally finding the powerband of this turbo. The first to shifts are super quick.

I am doing the NA to turbo swap, and I like the idea of running a ported 14b.

Porting which part?? I'm on an unported compressor housing and a ported 7cm 16g housing.

Kill it tomorrow man...

Damn.

Congratulations.

This should certainly put to bed any questions some might have about weight being important LOL

Here's to hoping you hit 11.0xx or break into the tens tomorrow!

So you where almost spot on for your predictions for Saturday. Now what's for Sunday?

Tomorrow I plan to get more aggressive on the burnouts and launching.

Congrats Justin!!!!

Thanks buddy.

Hope you had a great trip and stay in sin city.

Damn.

Congratulations.

We know it was other things besides weight. Had to be all elevation. ROFL

60' alone and I'm in the 10s. The cars making great power. Sure feels strong.

Well..... if you grab a tenth in 60' you're potentially in the 10.90's. If you can hit low-mid 1.60's then you might set a new record.

It's obvious you've got a better power to weight than Bucci already, so it's all on you now.

I say it will be pretty close.

If you can improve the launch, I'd go on and say you should be able to hit 10.79

What were your 330' & 1/8 times?

Comparison between me and Joe because the tranny differences. I already figured it would take me more mph to match his ET. I had in my mind to trap 126-127 to hit his times. But yesterday I was being conservative on the short times to save axles since I don't know the limit of them.

My short times where crap. 7.2 in the 1/8 and a 4.72 330. I clearly have work to do in the first half of the track.

Here are the numbers off the video of your best run. Just posted Joe's numbers and MPH for comparisons sake.

(Measurement - Justin's numbers - Joe's numbers - difference)

60' - 1.758 - 1.626 - +0.132 seconds
330' - 4.783 - 4.577 - +0.206 seconds
1/8 mile ET - 7.24 - 6.994 - +0.246 seconds
1/8 mile MPH - 101.41 - 101.48 - -0.07mph
1/4 mile ET - 11.113 - 10.876 - +0.237
1/4 mile MPH - 126.26 - 123.83 - +2.43mph

Looking at these numbers, you can see that the lowend of Joe's car was very strong compared to Justin's. Joe's car would have kept pulling away on Justin's until shortly after half track...and even on the back half, Justin only had enough extra power to close from a 0.246 second deficit at half track to a 0.237 second deficit at the end. That's 0.009 seconds faster on the back half compared to Joe's car...so Justin's car is making a little more power, but it's going to take some great driving and getting out of the hole quick to break the record. Good luck Justin!!!

Cool comparo...

Here's another:

My 1/8 - 7.27

Justin - 7.24

Diff - .03

I think Nate C. was 7.24

So, it's definitely that first 1/8 that needs work...sure it's not simple trying to hook with FWD.

I'd be curious to see what kind of power Justin's car is making on the Mustang Dyno where Dave W. (pneumo) is. Justin's car has some good topend, that's for sure! Seeing where the power falls on a dyno graph might be able to help him optimize his shift points even better.

Yeah that would be cool. However with a total weight of 2076, I don't think it's gonna take amazing amounts of power to trap 126.

As much as the speed is impressive, as always, I'm more impressed with a respective ET.

11.11 is damn quick.

So, now it's down to the driving to break the record.....

So I bettered the ET a lil more today. PLUS I finally hit a 1.628 60' time. This tranny combo is hard to work.

I'm gonna say I know these attempts are not easy. I put in some serious work this weekend. I've got more work to do but I'm knocking on that records door.

Thanks for the teaser, Justin. What are the numbers???

I know some are anxious. I'll get a more detailed thread started tomorrow. I will say that running the fwd trans and 24.5s isn't even comparable to the awd trans and 26' slicks. I have to find the sweet spot in the powerband for each gear. I'm getting close and I am only .16 away from matching Joe's record. ;)

I'll be looking for the writeup. Congrats on getting another step closer!!

Just getting back to the states. So I just read through the last 30 or so pages to get got back up to date on whats going on. I must say wow, some great developments as of late. I would like to extend my welcome, though somewhat late, to Justin. Who has made his impact on the 14b community! GO get it Justin, records are made to be broken.

1. Joe Bucci 10.876 @ 123.83 FWD
2. Justin Aichele 11.036 @ 125.59 FWD
3. Nate Crisman 11.377 @ 116.63 AWD
4. Phil Beers 11.497 @ 113.85 AWD
5. David Womer 11.514 @ 118.13 AWD
6. Shane Webster 11.541 @ 116.38 AWD
7. Leon Reitman 11.642 @ 116.56 AWD
8. Nick Carleton 11.767 @ 115.93 AWD
9. Aaron Sadorf 11.76 @ 113.37 FWD
10. Lucas English 11.7X @ XXX.X - I know he ran 11.7 and blew up his 14b AWD

Thank you. Ive read through page 1 at some point. Glad you made it back!!

Records are ment to be broken. I would like to be the one to do that. Plus im finally having some fun at the track again.

That tractor didnt have me for very long. I layed it down on him real quick Chris.

I shall be expecting a few of these guys on this list to move up some this year. If not up a spot but up in time to New personal best.

Im only .16 away from matching that record. Dont let the MPH fool you guys. Its all in the gearing and tire size. This is why my MPH is so high. I went through my PMs from Joe on FB and he said that the awd trans shifts sooner and had lower MPH. So im doing a very hard thing trying to match his et with a different trans setup.

Cool to see action on the top ten list. But wow, look at those FWD cars way out front...

......I think it's this latest development that makes me see why some would want to separate AWD and FWD...

Thus the reasoning I chose my fwd shell over my awd shell.

You start breaking it down though then your going to get those guys wanting to break it down to 1g/2G, auto/5-spd, then who knows maybe even red vs black dsms.

I hear that. I'm not changing my original thought that there should be one list...however, that would exclude any tube frame craziness and anything along those lines. An Ariel Atom with a 4g63 swap and a 14b would surely out accelerate ANY factory unibody dsm, for example.....
