Talon OBDII reading problems

Here's a quick question for you guys out there. I have a 97 TSi and every time i have tried to hook up my OBDII scanner at work, it will not connect to the ecu. We have tried different scanning machines and on different Talon's and different years, but it never seems to connect. The eclipses seem to connect, but not the Talons (might be coincidence) I have scanned ecu's before so I am confident that i hooked it up and did each step correctly. Is there an extra cable or something I need to hook the Eagles up to the scanner?!?!? Also, would this problem effect me when i install my logger? If the scanner wont connect to my ecu why would the logger?!?! I am so confused, someone please help me

DRB III will read it. You have to attempt to connect with the car a few times. its frustrating.

Will that affect a logger at all? I am about to buy a logger for OBDII all the cables and stuff, will it work?
