obdii problems with electrical

so i just got my car back from a engine build a couple weeks ago, and tried to hook into dsmlink and it kept saying command timed out, so i figured it was the ecu or 2g adapter for dsmlink. sent them into dave at dsmlink and they both checked out, we then figured the obdii was shot, but i got another one that i know works and it still didnt connect, so now im thinking its an electrical problem somewhere. my doorlocks dont even work anymore to unlock or lock it. can someone shed some light on this. are there certain wires or fuses somewhere that enable the obdii port to work???

Yes there are, but your going to need a pretty specific wiring diagram. If you can wait till tommorow I can get it for you at school.

thanks alot. i appreciate it. just get it to me as soon as possible so i can get my car back on the road. it has been ready for 3 weeks now and i havent driven it in 3-4 months now since i had gotten it built and everything.

Cool then I get it at school tommorow. Just to make sure OBD II wiring diagram to the OBD DLC. 99 Mitsu Eclipse GSX. Manual or Auto? There can be a slight diffrence in the wiring of the two.

does your dsmlink require +12volts ? (some do )

time out errors are prob more caused by your laptop -

there are a ton on threads on this in the dsmlink forums.

yes it does and it is getting it, i just cant figure it out, and i have tried someone elses laptop that i know works. yeah i have looked in the dsmlink forums.

I know its not the best in the world but they have it set up at schoold so you can't email out of the program so I had to do this. Save the image to your computer, and then go to edit the photo and zoom in, and everything should be clear. If you need me to clarify anything on it just let me know and I'll tell you what you need to know. Like I said I appologize for the crappy pic but I'm no photgraper and I suck with computers.
