The solution to the gasket failure we found was a re-torque after a few heat cycles. We would be glad to send you a new one.

I did one retorque after a few runs.
Am I supposed to retorque when hot or cold?

Yeah, can you send me one?
You think this gasket is more durable than a full stainless one?

You ran 20psi daily on a 7bolt with stock headstuds?

Yea, I ran 20PSI all day long too (in my 2G, stock head gasket/bolts.)

What's your point?

I had a question-not a point.

I wanted to know if he did it with stock TTY bolts, which is what Im running at 18psi.

If I had a point, I would have ended with a period.

Update on the bov issue...

I used a short handled mallet and gave it a hearty wack on the top (centered). I's say 3/16 of an inch. Ran it and the flutter is gone. Above 16 psi the BOV now hisses like a you wont believe. I'm going to wait a few days and try to iron out the best angle to take for the next BOV. Dont want to buy another after this one. Thanks for the input. Dave, I was going to disconnect the bov from the source, but got scared.

Oh, alright. The way I took it, was that you couldn't believe it, and I was waiting to hear why.

I'm not sure if this question had already been answered, but what should the manifold to turbo bolts be torqued to? How about the turbo to o2 bolts, and the downpipe bolts?

I usually just tighten them as far as i can first. Then loosen them a tiny bit and re-tighten. For the manifold to turbo i tightend them pretty tight and then run the car and let it idle for a few minutes and they re-tighten them again along with the manifold bolts. Works everytime

Spoke too soon flutter is back. HKS SSQV on the way... hope this will cover the problem. Also, how do you know if your actuator arm needs adjustment?

Have you checked for boost leaks? My friend had a fluttering noise, and it was one of the couplers that was leaking pretty bad.

My greddy type s didnt even sound like it was going off when i put this turbo on. It was like a thunk or a flutter at low boost. I hooked the lower nipple up to a vac port i made in my uicp and it was all good again.

The only time you need to adjust the actuator arm is to raise or lower your base boost. This means if your boost controller wont hold your desired boost level you can shorten the rod to raise the boost or visa versa.

mine bloew out but i forgot to retorque it, come to find, it was kinda loose after it blew...go figure, i had an extra 7cm metal gasket, just swaped for that one, no prob now

I still love this turbo, doing my clutch this week, finally got the South bend clutches OFE series clutch, feramic/metalic-organic clutch and will be putting it on, cant wait to boost 20psi

Also, my best race with this car happened last week on this turbo

17psi(falling to 15psi) with 8 gallons of 91 and 1 gallon of xylene and only +1* timing on the dsmlink, I ran into a 02 camaro SS, with z06 wheels, lowered, borla exhuast, KN intake system and some headers, 6 speed, 1 person driving ( i had a passanger) and we first went from a roll at 4000rpm in 2nd gear

He jumped for a second because of the instant torque, but as soon as 4500rpm hit i went from being at his back bumper to being even with him, in 3rd gear, by 6000rpm I had 1.5 cars on him

From a start, it turned out even better, i launched at 3250rpm with the studder box, spun a bit but limited to 10psi in 1st gear, switched to high boost in 2nd and pulled 1 car by end of 2nd, and another 1.5 cars by mid 3rd gear

I was very surprised to pull away from a modded ls1 SS with a passanger in my car still running pump gas, 190pump with 550cc injectors.

With my newer injectors, and 20psi and a new clutch, this thing should be a monster. :thumb:

Everyone this is what happens when you modify your oil drain line to fit a turbo like the to4b. Needless to say this is what killed my 7bolt block so be careful when you do this kind of stuff LOL as i was a little too careless when i made and modified it.

What kind of hose is that? I bet there is some hose that you can use that can stand up to tubo oil temps. Maybe silicone?

ha-ha, its not that simple. The Back plate and housing have to be machined out or replaced as well. Sorry to hear about your drian issue, i've rigged a few myself back in the day.

Coming soon, sold exclusively through The Speed Factor and Bullseye Power

What's the story with the B-52 that the The Speed Factor is selling? Are you building those as well? Do you offer a matching one that can be bought from Bullseye Power? Dou you have a compressor map for this turbo?

WE AIN'T SAYING SHIT! LOL j/k dude.

We did indeed hook up with Bullseye for this turbo. They have all the resources needed to put this together for us. We both agreed this would be a great product for the DSM and have a couple of them out already. Hell even a few shops have bought them from us for their customers :shhh:

damn man, you cut me deep. all our customers love us. you could be one of them :thumb:

they are a Speed Factor exclusive

Sorry, I did not intend to cut on your company. The only reason I was askingBullseye if they sold them is because until last week, I had never heard of your company before AND I am only about a 45-minute drive from Bullseye in Muskegon, MI. Do you offer a 24-month "No Hassle" warranty like Bullseye does? That is something that I DEFINITELY want.

Kevin

Kevin,

Dont worry about it, he was just messing with you. They're offering the extended warranty as well. The B-52 is strictly sold through The Speed Factor, they asked us to build them something that would outflow most turbochargers and still be easy to install.

I don't understand what all the fuss is. The to4b that Bullseye offers flows 48 LB/min, the B52 flows 52. That is about 6% more flow. Bulleye offers the H3 as the next step up, that should be comparable too. So what's the big deal? Is there some magic with 50-trim that I don't get?
