COP with MSD DIS-2 you think thats a tad bit overkill for ignition on a 10 second car?? How bout a good set of wires and some bpr7 or 8es. Aeromotive fuel rail??? Best of all the 2100 dollar clutch . That's a slap in the face to all the guys that have gone 10's with a act26 or 2900.

How about a manifold? A BOV? A dump tube for the wastegate. Rewire for the fuel pump. A clutch. A turbo back exhaust. An intake. Plugs. Wires. Bone stock ignition won't do 500+hp, so add a DIS-2. At least some new shocks. Gona need a radiator if he wants to drive anywhere other than the track, add a Fluidyne. Repairs on the car (master/slave cylinders are common, boost leak fixes, water pump, oil pump, alt., thermostat, etc). Oil feed and return lines for the turbo. Coolant lines for the turbo. What about safety equipment? A roll cage? At least some harnesses and good seats. He's going to need wider rims and at least some high performance tires, if not slicks. Brakes? 500hp needs to stop too. Boost, oil pressure, EGT, water temp, and fuel pressure gauges at the minimum. And most importantly of all TUNING TIME!! Its going to cost a small fortune for him to get that all dyno tuned. Because you know full well he can't do it himself.

Then the first time down the track something will break. There's more money right there.

I think YOUR estimate is even further off. People tend to forget all the small or supporting parts costs that add up to more than the big stuff. He'd be wise to plan his budget at at least $15,000.

Who told you need dis 2 to make over 500Hp???? Racing seats and haeness's u serious man. I have gone threw this same type of build I don't need to be told about small stuff why u think I threw in 1500 and used sbr pricing and rounded everything up. You guys are throwin in things that make it easier but they are not neccessities. The one thing I did forget is a ACT2900 or a clutch similar to it so just for shits and gigles well say 10K for a complete everything you NEED to go 10's if your an everday guy(I say that cause qe all know some people have freak cars that go like 10's with 14b and tuning or w/e)

Your forum bench racing a very sad out look on how to build a car, I spend a little over 7k on parts, rember THINGS BREAK. Things need to be replaced, OEM parts arent cheap. Doing things the correct way isnt cheap.

you sound like a "I bought everything why aren't I fast guy" I didn't say 1500 bucs will take you anywhere that was money for little stuff like gaskets and stock stuff that might break or w/e. If you think that your car not having a goo tune isn't why you aren't going fast enough u are clueless. I am not in the 10's because i'm gettin my ecu fixed by tom @ dsmlink but once it gets back I'm gonna go put up the number to back up my build.

Let me go strip my car to nothing but a bare chassis, engine, and steering wheel. Maybe I'll even rig up a cardboard box for me to sit on, just for comfort and some bling factor. That's really all I need to do to turn 10's and it will be FREE.... except for that box...

Like PSI NRG and JOEY both hit on, you can hack your way into the tens or you can do it right and make a reliable, solid 10 second car.
