super charger kit on ebay?

actually it has been done once. The guy said it was a pain in the ass to tune but it did run and drive. Search a little and you'll find some info on it and a picture. There was a guy trying to sell a kit on ebay for a while that was even better than this because it had the runners built into the unit it was a little more custom fit. I would still go for it but get MSnS or portfuller to tune.

Why not just go with a belt driven Turbo. I've only seen one once and it was on a stupid ass mustang. They were showing you how to install them on some v8 show on tv. Only problem about showing you how to install them is, where the hell to get them. They said they have alot less lag than an exhaust driven turbo.

WTF It's still a supercharger. There are different types. All superchargers are belt driven that's why you don't have lag because they boost increases with engine speed not with exhaust flow. They make one like the one your reffering to for my jeep but it's still gonna be the same as this unit when it comes to tuning installing and maintaining.

I know this thread is shot, but why does everyone think superchargers don't lag? Have any of you ever owned a roots type blower? (like the one that was in question here). They don't make full boost off the bat. The boost rises with RPM increases. Just throwing it out there. Oh and I wonder why GM switched out the supercharger on the cobalt SS to a turbo... hmm..... Ciao

They use a turbo now ?? That's news to me if they do that would be pretty badass. Anyway the reason why we don't consider that lag is because a turbo doesn't build boost off the bat a supercharger does. Like at 2000 your not in boost unless you have a t25 or 14b with a supercharger your good to go  I'm still a turbo guy though but you can't argue with how a SC works.

^^yeap, they switched from s/c to t/c (210hp to 260 now) around the begining of summer.. I worked at a chevy dealership until i moved up here to penn state and got to drive them pretty often.. They really didnt have much lag and were reeally quick.. I also here that they hav really good handling for a front drive, but because im way too in love with dsms i would still take a gsx or tsi awd over a cobalt any day

???

Ok, enlighten me guys, what's the difference between a belt driven turbo and a supercharger?

MB

Eh, nvm, I just google it (I'm quick huh?). Its basically a turbo being used like a supercharger.

Called a centrifugal supercharger.
