EDM85- Yeah ok dude, go for it. Let us know how it goes. Knock yourself out bro.

Come back and let us know when you give up.

140hp not big enough to use a supercharger? what? i dunno how much drag a supercharger puts on an engine, but i cant imagine it being much more then power steering or what not. plus our 4 bangers rev higher then most v6's or v8's, which would spin the supercharger faster, granted the same size pulleys are on.

I remember reading its like 10% power loss from putting a superchager on

Please don't bait me ;). And yes, like other things, I've got a plan for this. If I could only hit powerball..........

You and me both, brother. You and me both.

Remember, just because they say its for 420a............

This is, of course, the Knight Kit that has been referenced in this thread.

"You can expect up to 100 extra hp by adding this baby to your set-up."

Yes, you can expect delivery of your Flash Gordon rocket belt next week, too.

But you'll be disappointed on both expectations.

I've been watching that auction for a while it's actually a relist. I'm waiting for the price to come down because it would be a lot easier to make this work then defiant or anyone else thinks. I have seen the mock up pics of that exact unit on a 420a motor. I have been in contact with that seller since the first time he put it up but he's not budging yet on the price. My idea.....everyone seems to be most concerned with tuning a setup like this. Hmm lets see you need a way to tune something by boost and not by rpm because it's to hard to figure it out the other way. Can you say PORTFUELER:rocks:

It's not a matter of luck as much as commitment. If someone can put two 4g63t engines in a 1g I think supercharging a 2gnt is doable it's just if your committed enough and knowledgable enough. I am neither which is why I'm waiting and researching besides I still want to try the big shot of nitrous setup first before moving on to something else.

just adding my 1 cent to everything. the main difference between a roots style blower and a screw type blower. if you look at the rotors inside the supercharger on a roots, they will look straight, and in screw type blower they will look twisted. most all superchargers that come on stock vehicles like the EATON supers are screw type SC's , but they are based off the roots style. I have built many supercharged engines in my life, mostly chevy v8's. but a Supercharger is best used for increased low end torque, where as we all know turbos are incredible top end power makers! Centrifugals work about the same only more efficiently, they use an incredible overdrive ratio inside the housing. the compressor wheel spins close to the same speeds as a turbo. anyway, i haven't seen any superchargers that don't make boost all the time, it is relevant to engine speed as said above. please criticize only if you have proper knowledge before hand thanks for reading my opinions.

So i know this tread is OLD but i wanted to know if anyone had pulled this off or not because Ive got a idea i know i can make work for the SC and adapter ect but i dont know what would need to be done for fuel and really would like to know if anyone else had done it.

94 and below 2.0's have a better advantage than a 420A to go turbo

yep ive read that thread already and was most impressed but wanted to know if its ever been done a 1gb

well id like to and i know i can make it work on the SC side with belts and all but I'm unaware of what would be needed for fuel if anything at all. also i know that if you turbo a N/T the piston rings don't last long so would the SC be the same since boost is boost?

You are correct about the boost is boost and that the rings don't last long but if its a pretty fresh ring and piston combo then it will last awhile as long as you do not over boost it 6-8 psi is a fair amount of boost to run on a stock 420a not sure what is good for a 4g63 seach and im sure you will find the answer. If you are running it on a stock 4g63 n/a it will take more of a beating. Making the manifold is the hard part imo. I spent almost a month on getting mine finished up and did a lot of measuring to get it right. As for fuel bigger fuel pump injectors and a 12:1 fmu or a afpr with a way to tune it and you will be good.

Also to add I have never heard of anyone doing it on a 1g but their was a guy that did it on a vr4 they posted it on here almost a year ago so you you have to dig it up ill look and see if I can find it and post it here.
