Hey guys I know this might be a newb question but Id much rather ask anyways..

Well after my 6 bolt took a total crap (oil filter housing came loose on the highway:cry: )
I am in the process of my first rebuild. Looks like I will be getting my fresh shortblock back from the shop this week:D. However due to some expenses these next couple months, it looks like it'll be a while before I can get the rest of it put together (Head, pumps gaskets, etc..) I was thinking of wraping it up really good and storing it in one of the extra rooms in my house. Would this be ok? Any tips guys?
I think I heard of spraying something in the cylinders to keep them lubed?
Again sorry if this is a common question but I'd greatly appreciate any tips/input!:thumb:
Thanks.

Generously spraying the deck and cylinder walls with WD40 should prevent everything from rusting. After that i'd say shrink wrapping it should work just fine if you're going to be moving it around alot. I've done this with my spare 4g63 and both of my spare B-series blocks and haven't had any problems.

As long as you take the internals out I would say the wd40 but if you're not gonna pull the internals out, get the head off and lightly coat it with oil and maybe even spray some rustolium rust preventive paint and most deffinately clear wrap it to prevent moisture.
