What the other differences between a 1G 6 bolt vs 1G 7 bolt (short block)

Ok guys I have a 1g 7 bolt short block.
Other than the head stods size (11mm), the 7 bolt tensioner, the main caps, and the 7 bolt oil pump, what other differences exist againt a 1g 6 bolt short block only?

I notice my block has the same squirells as the 6 bolt.
So i would like to think that this block could accept a 6 bolt crank shaft assuming I use 6 bolt main bearings.

Please post about the short block only.

No you can't just put a six bolt crank in. Rods, pistons, crank are all different. Totally different and they do not interchange. The stroke and bore are the same but the dimensions of bearings, wrist pins etc are all different. Performance is identical as all the items that actually affect performance are the same. That is not true of 2g motors (of course 7 bolt as thats the only way they came) as the compession ratio is higher on those.

I have aftermarket rods and pistons made for a 6 bolt installed in my 7 bolt.
I use 6 bolt rod bearings and it worked perfectly. This is typical.

Lets focus in the main bearings. (keep in mind is a 1g 7 bolt)
Can I use 6 bolt main berings and a 6 bolt crack In a block that was made originally made for a 7 bolt.
What is the difference that prevents me to do this?

I think is the axial width of the 7 bolt bearings that is smaller compared to the 6 bolt bearing, but i am not sure.

Yes I believe you are correct. Axial width.
