Ok so i blew my engine up in my 93 eclipse gst and was wondering can i just do a direct swap if i put a 6bolt engine cause i know my car is the earlier 7 bolt. That came halfway through 92 what will i need to do for the swap i need my car like yesterday

Yea i knew that just didnt kno if there were any other dufferences havent done a swap b4 ive always had luck with my dsms

the 6-bolt vs 7-bolt is exactly what it says in the name 6 flywheel bolts vs 7 flywheel bolts, as long as the 6 bolt motor has the flywheel then don't worry about it

In addition, it must be a FWD turbo flywheel to work with the FWD turbo transmission.

If your using a 90 6-bolt the tps sensor is different and the oil filter housing is different to as the 90 has an external oil cooler but you can use the 7-bolt tps and OFH

If it ends up being from a '90, I'd just swap the throttle bodies so you retain the one that was on the engine in your car originally.

You cannot use the 7-bolt OFH on a 6-bolt engine.

yeah thought i'd mention this, all the 1991-1994 sensors are easier to source then the 1989-1990 ones, which can be hard to find some times, so if you swap in an early '89-'90 6 bolt 4G motor make sure you keep your stock throttle body.

below is a link to a 1990 throttle body, it has the sensors that are harder to find so try to avoid using it if you can.

I would comment on if you can put a 6 bolt in a 7 bolt, but I feel that has already been answered here pretty much.
