My battery keeps draining to all the way down to 1-2 volts. This is the second battery I’ve ruined like this. I’ve never seen the battery at say 10,9,8 volts , just 11-12 or 1-2… does this sound like a short? Doesn’t happen all the time so I’m wondering if something’s shorting when it rains? I was originally suspecting a parasitic draw but I heard a parasitic draw won’t drain a battery all the way down to 1-2 volts?

A parasitic draw will draw the battery down to 0 given enough time. Depends on how long the car is sitting. Charge the battery up and then clamp the + cable to the battery. Next, put a test light between the neg post and the neg post clamp. If the test light illuminates, you have a draw.

Don't think the rain will cause an issue unless you have a seriously bad and exposed wire connection, exposed to the rain, face up... so the rain will sit and cause a short... and there's no fuse to cut the circuit...

Bad battery?
