Picked up someone else's project. Turn the key and it'll work with acc, and on. When I go to start it to see if it turns over, all power is gone. I'm thinking starter. But if the starter isnt hooked up correctly, would I lose power?

I would start with checking the battery and the terminals. Makes sure you have a good battery and that the terminals are tight and clean. It just sounds like you're losing it when the battery gets put under a heavy load.

Anyways, I would start there.

was having the same problem the other day, took the cables off cleaned them, grease and tighten them down and not a problem since

I believe its actually supposed to "turn off" everything else when the starter engages well did on my other cars (non-dsm) never paid attention to my talon. Its probably the starter solenoid is bad, smack it with a heavy screwdriver or light hammer a few times and try it again (assuming its wired correctly) otherwise take the starter off and test it. best place to start figuring it out.

Ok, so I know the starter is hooked up correctly, battery is good. When I stop turning the key, I get a buzzing ish sound. When I unhooked the hose going into the intake manifold, I can hear it in there. Possibly the sensor on that (forgot with its called isn't hooked up correctly?) Then I get anotherbuzz from around the transmission area. Anyone?

Is there a list of sensors that'll hard stop the car from starting?

Throttle position sensor is what I was thinking.

Also, my mdp sensor wasn't connected.
