Ok, so i have a 1995 eclipse Gs Turbo and the speedometer is not working. I have replaced the speed sensor and that didnt work. i switched the gauge cluster and that didnt work. I also switched the trans sensor and didnt work. i checked the wires and they all seem fine. I have no idea what else it could be.. help?

the vehicle speed sensor uses a specific gear for each model, some are smaller than the other and some are larger. makesure you put the right gear for your specific car and that it has the sleeve for it. someone replaced mine (a previous owner) and forgot to put a sleeve and had the wrong gear so now we got similar problems

I don't know what it could be but I am having the same problem on my eclipse right now, i'm guessing that maybe it was wired through the radio (which was stolen) so try checking that if you haven't already.

Please check your dates. This post is 10 years old and the member has been gone that long as well.

But since we're here, I'll go ahead and add 2 bits of useful info in case anyone else finds this thread from searching.
Idk if its possible for people to know what trans someone has just by looking
It is possible. There is a name plate on the end of most of the Mopar transmissions from this era. If the nameplate is missing they also stamp the car's VIN on some of the trans casings, so you can determine if it's the original.
i bought an automatic gauge cluster.. it would have still worked right on a manual car?
The manual trans cars and the automatic trans cars have the same connectors for the gauge cluster and they are interchangeable. The only thing that differs between them is the tachometer. The automatics end at 8k rpm and the manuals end at 9k rpm. But it will still function.
