Omg, where you at anyhow..?? I got you loud and clear, and if I was you that extra head would go in the bedroom for sure..!! I’m lucky because I worked AC installation for a few years and cut in my package unit and every room in the house stays @ 71• I’ve seen many many many installs that aren’t worth a crap because the guys want in and out instead of doing it right.. yeah, you might have to take that crawl into the depths of the roof pitch in the attic to place the supply duct where it should be.. anyhow good luck with the humidity, IT SUCKS THE BIG ONE..!!!
Near Brandon/Tampa. Codes were a little different in ‘01 when house was built. Could be worse, but not the best. When I build my forever home ALL of my air handlers will be in climate controlled spaces with plenty of room to get to them!

I’m in so cal so humidity is not a thing.. sure would be nice to build a forever home cause then you can put what you want, where you want.. the first place the supply air wants to go is to the return, so make it go across the room.. we do get really hot, dry days though.. I mean over 100 degrees is common

DAAUM. How much did that little piece of plastic run ya? 🤔
Ya gotta love new(ish) cars, don't ya? My newest is a 2004, LOL.

Well at least its not a PITA to do. So many things on newer cars are a real pain to get to and to replace. My son works in a shop and tells me the wildest stuff sometimes.

Oh yeah yeah.. these words he speaks are true.. my wife’s newest car being a 2025 nissan kicks and I have no plan to look at anything about it anytime soon..!! My ‘97 beater GST is bad enough..

I took a 3 hour drive up to a friends place to help him put his new turbo kit together, we built his whole manifold and piping setup in about 18 hours.

MAN That's Awesome!!! I don't suppose you would sell me the file so I could have one made in the UK would you?

Well I got loads done over the winter break. amazing what you can achieve when other people leave you the hell alone! LOL

I was really looking forward to coming on here and reporting that the Cossie was finished and that the Eclipse was next on the ramp.... but I think you can see where this is going.....

Cossie has had:

New RS500 FMIC
New Thick core radiator
New slim line rad fans
New low temp thermostat and fan switch
New boost / air temp sensor

New Water hoses (silicone)
New boost hoses (silicone)
New breather hoses (silicone)
Might as well just say at this point that ALL under bonnet hoses are now new Silicone ones... And good job too as several were severely perished and woud not have done another year's work. Still, not bad for 30 year old Ford Rubber....

New timing belt, with tensioner, pulleys, Water pump, Auxiliary belts, Spark plugs, genuine Ford Oil filter, Royal purple oil (only the best for a princess!)

And this is all just under the bonnet. Underneath she had:

New Coil overs front and rear
New front top mounts with new polyurethane bushes
New track control arms with new polyurethane bushes
Front anti roll bar polyurethane bushes
Rear anti roll bar polyurethane bushes
Rear beam polyurethane bushes
Inner and outer trailing arm polyurethane bushes
I have a slight polyurethane fetish.... please don't judge....

Not to mention new inner and outer CV gaiters front and rear, new steering joints and gaiters, new fuel filter... New EBC pads and discs, new braided brake lines front and rear.... The pads that came out were actually the ones it left the factory with in 94! I mean apart from the fuel tank and fuel lines... which are both in great shape... everything under the car is now new! To say I was looking forward to diving her again is a massive under statement!

And there she sat:

Ready to have the alignment and ride height setup, then a rolling road health check followed by a much over due thorough clean and detail inside and out. Then she threw a real strop. Idled fine, but even look at the throttle peddle and revs were all over the place before cutting out. It would start and idle perfectly, then same would happen all over again. I tried everything I could think of. Spark plug gaps, checked all the sensors and the wiring to them, everything looked fine... I had started her up and revved it a few times in between changing sensors etc to make sure I hadn't messed something up and it worked perfectly.

With a sulk, I left it in the hands of a neighbour on my industrial estate who has rebuilt a few of these before and got a on a plane to PRI.

A few days later I get a WhatsApp.... "You are one lucky SOB!!!!" " Sodding thing is a massive fire trap!!!" "Main power cable in the loom is totally shot!" "How it hasn't bust into flames is a total mystery!"

I get home and this is what awaits me:

FML  So next week she goes off to start having the loom unpicked to see how far back the damage really goes, while I contemplate raiding the Eclipse restoration funds (and thus moving that project further down the to do list) to keep this stroppy b*tch happy.....

Oh yeah happy new year everyone!

I added an electric daily drain to my new compressor to void it of moisture and try to prevent rust. My Craftsman was used for 15 years and finally developed a LEAK instead of exploding, like yours. That's my .02 on preventive maintenance. Also a dedicated compressor room is the best. Quieter shop and contains things like that. I am glad nobody got hurt!

Well, I had to do some SEWER DRAIN WORK Sunday, what a crappy job! ROFL I have my own snake machine but dam, its heavy. I have a cleanout on the North side of my house and have to do it once a year, usually, due to 100 year old "Clayborn" drain pipe collapsing. Since we modify EVERYTHING here, I bought some plastic lawn mower wheels from Amazon and made life much easier! I had to make a sleeved adaptor out of copper tube and a 3/8" bolt that was an inch longer but boy what a difference it made. I was putting it into my truck to move it from the shop to the cleanout. Now it just rolls there. Honestly, the dam machine should have CAME WITH WHEELS, but no worries now! 💩

Restoring a cossie is worth an actual limb. Maybe not a major one like an arm or a leg, but a finger or a toe I would give.
Not one of the important fingers, but definitely a toe.

Since I don't have a car to work on anymore and I'm healing from an AC Separation, I've been doing Physical Therapy in the form of these.

Still not done. I've got three other guys to assemble(my daughter calls them my "dudes" ROFL ), as the two rows represent the "original" suits, and the rear row will represent their "upgraded form" they received in the show.

But man is it awesome PT for fine motor control and to use all the muscles you don't normally use. I've got almost all my strength back, and no deficits or loss of range of motion. I'm healing faster than most others with similar injuries do, I'm even out of the sling now.

So yeah. Good stuff.

Today a customer brought in a 2007 Harley Sporster 883. "Just" wants me to get it running. The harness has been cut up multiple times and the switch is missing. This will be fun. Time to print some diagrams. I already called the dealership and all harnesses are discontinued.
