So what are you working on that’s NOT your DSM?

I'm from the parts that used bricks as jackstands and swapped engines in a heavily weeded backyard. So I'll never lack an appreciation for lifts, or even jackstands LOL . It's funny to me how many people take that stuff for granted. We weren't all born into money or materials.

Had fun yesterday on Father's Day doing dad things. Drained the ATF for a second time, dropped the pan and changed the transmission fluid filter, changed both axles, and replaced the sway bar end links. I forgot how fun it is to squirm underneath a car on jack stands trying to pry and hammer axles out, getting brake dust in your face as you do it. I still need to go for a test drive. Was drenched in sweat and dehydrated, wanted to be done.
And the fluid/filter change didn't fix the harsh shifts by the way. Now I have to decide what to do next. I've read that replacing the PCM (ECU) can fix this issue, or reprogramming the one that's in there now. I guess I'll have to see if a local wrecking yard has one I can pick up. Hate throwing money at it without knowing what the issue really is. I just hope it isn't anything major. 🫤

I know huh, bricks and rocks and whatever, moms sewing machine..!!!

OK check this out.. took the DSM for a spirited drive yesterday and was just about to grab 3rd getting on the freeway and power just went away, not sure why but it did.. once I got it stopped I tried to crank it again (of course) and to my surprise the tach was bouncing all over the place.. 3000, 4000, even up to 6000.. never seen this before and threw me for a loop.. any ideas before I get under the hood today?? I had left my phone at home cause I was just going for a little drive so I couldn’t even call AAA for a tow, so I walked about 5 miles home in the 106 degree heat and that really SUCKED… any help would be a god send, thanks crew

You don't here the word swamp cooler very often, I bet there are people on the forum who don't even know what that is 🤪

Amen LOL we do what we have to do.

Some of the people with the most ingenuity and dedication are backyard car guys and potheads. LOL
LOL @ potheads

I'm suprised the rpms would idle and bounce that high without cutting the fuel??
I know.. have no idea where to even start

Replaced bent shift forks
Swapped in new gearstacks
Reset endfloat for gearstacks and shift fork
Replaced clutch basket, timing belts, and a handful of other worn items while the engine was apart
Finally, I have a running bike without gearbox issues and will be getting back on the track ASAP. If you enjoy bike racing, check in on my updates every so often: https://www.adammillerracing.net/updates

After far too much time, I'll be getting back to FUBAR soon. It'll be great to get back to my DSM project. This is where I left off on that project: https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/1992-vr4-71-1000.488672/page-9#post-153906133

Really looking forward to solving the parking brake cable problem so that I can move on to fishing the paint and the subframe restoration. BTW, if anyone has some clean GVR4 parking brake cables laying around, let's talk!!

Just picked up some Legacy Spec-B aluminum trailing arms. As soon as DSM is working it gets rolled into the garage.

Daily driver got a little love, if you want to call it that.

Ordered an OEM PCV and replaced it. Hopefully it helps with some of the disappearing oil. Also had to order yet another hood latch. But not because there was anything wrong with my latch, but because the hood open switch had broken the locator tab off and the only way to get a new switch, was to order an entire latch.

Working with my little brother to prep his 2014 Grand Cherokee for our build.

Current has a stock gen 3 vvt hemi with CNC ported heads, Comp Cam, headers, 3600 stall, V3-SI blower, FIC 1000 injectors on 91.

We built a 5.7 based stroker with a full balanced Manley 392 rotating assembly, it's getting re-stalled to 3200, sending the V3-SI out to be upgraded to a JT, new FRP Tomahawk 2.0 cam, and a fore double pump setup all going in sometime in the near future and making the switch to e85

Ask and you shall receive! Turbo is a Precision 6766, max setting peaks at 38psi and falls off to about 32/33 to 8k.

Just got the car back from paint and upgraded the front end to the 97-98 so not a ton of pics with the new style yet. Still deciding what emblems to put in the back as there are none right now, thinking the middle emblem and the “Supra turbo”.

Turned on 535 fuel pump installed my fenders and moulding. Working on gauges. Begin to use my da to prepping for primer then wet sand block for stuff. Then gonna spray base and clear. Miscellaneous but she's coming together better than before.

Definitely. Especially since I bought an OEM latch in January and it didn't come with the damn switch. I reused my old one, and then it failed. I just bought a cheap aftermarket latch that came with the switch and swapped it onto my latch.

yup, then you’re stuck with new things ya don’t wanna throw away, then stuff starts to accumulate, before ya know it your trippin over the stuff… I hate it too

So the c7 caliper bolts on to the Grand Am hub... kinda. It will need the c7 bolts as they are slightly larger which may require me to drill out the bolt holes on the hub a hair. No big deal.

The C7 rotor is wrong, I'm still learning here. After lots of measuring I have concluded that I should have just used a Terrain rotor. While figuring that out, I did discover a 19-20 Buick Sportback rotor is the same as the Terrain but 345mm instead of 321mm, so I'm tempted to give that a shot.

That reminds me I worked on a grand prix Gxp at work today. Pontiacs were soo cool back then. Sad they went away.

I lost the drill adaptor that came with my RV for the leveling jacks, so I made my own, first time making a hex drive on my mill.
