I sure don't find anything wrong with that. Nice progress is what I see 👀 👌

I joined in a 1st Gen Camaro group and DAM, THAT PLACE IS HOSTILE (Team Camaro Tech). I know what I am talking about, have built those cars since 1978 and still build them and tried to help and you would have thought I shot jesus christ. I won't be over there for their smart-ass remarks that they put out to a "NEW" (but OLD) member.
What a difference between that hell hole and this community!
Thanks to all our members for being helpful, NOT HATEFUL. :thumb: ✌️
Now if you have got to know me, you realize I don't take shit like that so I spouted out some FACTS and that shut the smart asses up, for a bit. It won't get more "help" from my 45 years of building them unless they BEG.
Marty

That's honestly most groups these days, and almost every single Facebook group.

It's the sole reason I don't attend any car meets organized on facebook. They all pride themselves on being hostile assholes.

Maybe you need a bigger mullet?
I had a dam nice one back in the 80s Curt ROFL
My smart-ass son asked me if that's where I left it.....in the 80s. I said "Yeah"

Oh how glad i am digital cameras weren't a thing back then. I had a permed mullet. Shameful.

Paul, my hair was so naturally curly, it went EVERYWHERE. ROFL
Now I'm trying to keep what is left.

You may try but better effort is spent being ok with it wanting to part ways with this world. We're too old to give a damn about what people think anyway.
Only thing I really miss is now I have to be more careful in the sun.. but haircuts with an electric trimmer are super fast LOL

Anyway. Working on some small electronics side bits.. variable load and a new Pi-based ecmlink computer to replace the old setup. New components, logic-level MOSFETs this time around. Ordered a new bench power supply because my 10+ year old one can't even handle the inrush current from starting up a pi 4b

I was considering a pi 5 just for boot time and M2 SSD.. but we will see.

I have found BMW forums to be asshats too... they do not want you posting asking any questions. The typical reponse for electrical help is read the ETM. Thats if they bother to do anything other than talk crap

This is where the hate comes in. I'm half japanese, I still have all my hair. LOL.
You're AMERICAN :thumb:
I am a Hienz 57 of mixes, even a little Native American. ✌️
Sean, did you go back over there and "lurk" like I have been, just to see how crappy it is? :hmm:;)

Working on my late coworkers kids friends car. I know that’s long. They got into the 3K/Stealth platform and they’re pretty much all hacked up. Tons of issues on this one to include no TB gasket, vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator unplugged, timing belt slapping(tensioner is toast) coolant leaks and rtv everywhere, the best is the 3-2 shift at 7k which is why I’m rebuilding the spare heads they had. As cheap as I can and considering a decent timeframe. I’d have them actually completely redone but we’ll settle on lapping the valves, new seals and chasing all the other stuff so it might live little longer.

Possibly… it’s a younger girls car. She probably drives like a granny. Haha i didn’t notice one, but it could have a remote start, and here in eastern PA people love leaving their cars idle for a while.

DI stuff sucks when people don’t know what pedal to floor is. I do a lot of European cars but in general it’s going WOT on a test drive. The amount of smoke and junk that exits the exhaust is crazy sometimes.

3-2 money shift is like 10500rpm in 2nd. That will definitely do some damage.

To go along with Jason's snow frustrations above.... Anyone ever have a premonition of exactly how you're going to f***up before it happens?

I tried starting the snowblower while it was snowing that night. Did it start? HA HA.. of course it didnt ...because I looked at it all year knowing that I shouldve taken the gas out of it, which is why probably 95% of them dont start in the first place. So i left it for the next day because i was already getting late... Walked into the garage the next morning and got things situated and then it happened... A feeling and a vision of myself dumping oil all over the garage as I was setting that blue container over the water channel while balancing the snow blower on the rhino ramps cause it was the right height.

I hadnt intended on placing the container there, it just happened to be where it needed to sit after i got the snowblower up on the ramps. I was trying to rush because my wife wanted to go to the store and was ready to go faster than what I thought she'd be, but I thought i could get away with it for the short amount of time it was going to take to drain the oil.... Did i move everything forward so that the container wasnt sitting on the channel? HA HA...Of course I didnt... 😌

You can see the smears from cleaning it all up because yes, the container's edge slipped into the channel and went everywhere the second before I was about to grab and empty it when it was full....the same way i envisioned it happen. Trying to explain it to my wife went about as well as its probably going with some of you as she replied with a "....and how did that work out for you?" after telling her how i was trying to save time by "getting away with it." Which is why everything is moved forward away from the channel for the picture.

Needless to say, it fired right up after I was done.

I feel your pain. Last year I had some carb trouble due to stale gas, but dumbass me kept the fuel in over the entire summer
New gaskets all around (even treated gasket paper sucks ass for fuel), didn't realize there was an extra jet that was clogged.. fun times

I was dreading having to take the carb apart and clean it.. Not difficult with this one, but just dont have time for it, nor want to do so with frozen fingers. Got lucky this time.
