I'm working on my Radio Station setup from before I found DSM's.
If you know, you know. If you don't, well, it's pretty LOUD.
My new Rack, to hold it all, will be in tomorrow, along with a new 6.25db gain antenna because Mother Nature took out my 4 element Beam. I've talked to Cape Town on it so I am rediscovering my older passion. It's a 10-12 meter setup with my mods and alignments. :thumb:
When I get the Rack set up, I'll show a better "stack".

My rack came in today, so I set up my "Rig". Looking at my antenna (18'), and my breakover pole, it appears that I need to shorten the pole so I don't touch the power lines out by the street as I winch it up. It is a 40' breakover so 18' more makes it 58' to the tip. I may need to call the electric company to see what they advise. No need to guess and accidentally touch one!
"The Flatlands of Kansas, Heartland of America, United 112" needs to be back on the air. KZX9782
73's and 88's. I'll be 10-10 and listening in by the weekend. 🤞

Seems to be working. Upstate NY and the Mojave Dessert both were talking to me a few minutes ago. 73's! The Station is back On the Air, LOUD AND CLEAR! :thumb:

Last picture. The Rig Rack is FULL. And up to FULL POWER.
Shhhhhhhhh.

I'm "pretty sure" you're right. but I was on 19A on sideband for that picture...27.195
I said shhhhhh ;) Connecticut said it sounded fine. :)
It's my Armageddon setup. I haven't used these things in 15 years so I was testing, in case I needed to talk to you ROFL

Went hunting for more firewood and to clean up the property. This tree was a little too easy to cut through and let out some ground shaking cracks and jolts before giving up. Unfortunately it destroyed the bar on my saw because I wasn't ready when it started shifting. At least hollow trees are easy to split and burn, I just need to borrow a saw to finish getting it cleaned up.

I cleared a bunch of trees last summer. A tree along a creek had come down in a storm, so I decided it was time to clean up the embankment like I had wanted to do since I bought the house in 23.

I actually cleared some of the stuff before I got to the downed tree to make room. When I went to cut the tree from the stump it shifted and pinched the bar and the saw was stuck.

Thankfully I had another saw and got it fired up, and was able to get the other saw free without damage, and without getting myself hurt.

There was another tree that was pre-fallen and for this one my nephew was on hand with me. I told him to stand by and let me know if he saw any shifts, and to stand clear.

As I cut I saw a shift and pulled away just as the stump (with the roots and all) flipped back towards its original home. My nephew's eyes were as big a saucers. He checked on me to make sure nothing got me, then we continued on the clearing.

If you're looking for a good cheap saw the Portland 18" saw at Harbor Freight is actually amazing for the price. I have that one as my main "big" saw, then I have a 16" Poulan I got off Marketplace for cheap too, as well as a 40V Ryobi for small quick jobs like delimbing.

Did my buddies 2015 CR-V piston rings. Only 87k miles and it was burning 3 quarts in 1k miles. 🤮

That makes me wonder what caused them to fail. Honda engines haven't been made the same as they used to for quite some time, but that's still very early for a full teardown.

Yup Honda has been having engine problems for awhile now. A lot of piston ring issues, head gasket issues on their 1.5 turbo engines, and the latest issue is the v6 rod bearings.

I'm working on myself.

I've been thinking about it for awhile, but after eating like absolute trash last weekend I made the decision to make better decisions about my eating habits and working out. I also decided to go dry on alcohol once I finish the little bit I have left (so it doesn't got to waste). I don't have any problems with it and don't necessarily drink a lot (usually only when I bowl twice a week) but figure when I do drink it's just empty calories.

I've already been eating less all week (read less boredom eating, less overeating, less snacking in general and when I do snack its like cheese, pepperoni, and I just picked up some oranges, bananas, and grapes). I've already cut 7 pounds, and I'm not really a big guy as it is (5'9" ~164), but my goal is to cut the gut, and work on getting my abs back.

I'm also intent on getting my whole upper body toned up. Today I got my Bowflex dumbbells back out and started some exercises with them. I hadn't touched them since I put them in the closet almost 2 years ago when I bought my house. I had just hurt my wrist and didn't stand a chance of using them (with my right hand at least)

I wish I could get back to running, but unfortunately my knee can't handle it. Every time I get into a flow and get to where I can go hard, my knee blows up, and the only cure is rest. Maybe I'll try running again, but less, just to see how it holds up.

My e70 bmw x5 is rwd only right now not awd, all my wheel speed sensors are showing reverse when driving forward so the transfer case isn't engaging. I have to replace all 4 which seems odd, I'll start with the fronts Tuesday.

Is re-ringing, even using the originals, after that much mileage even going to solve the problem? Cylinder walls don't wear perfectly round over time so the new round rings would end up no longer making proper contact around the entire circumference.. Even if you use the old ones, they've worn to fit the cylinder wall as they found their own orientation.

Try an elliptical machine. Very low impact. Good for you man, keep at it!

Check out this vintage wrapping paper I found secretly hiding in my house. I call it vintage but who knows how old it actually is. Old enough to smell stale and feel brittle at least. Very cool pattern though and something that I've never seen.

The problem is not with the rings themselves. The issue is carbon build up due to direct injection (4 cyl,) and variable cylinder management (6 cylinder) Obviously honing would be the best way to go, but in the service bulletin Honda has you check the cylinder for straightness, and check for consistent cross hatching. Their engineers deemed it to be a good enough repair for them… i just read the bulletins, and do what I’m told… if you think this is sketchy then you wouldn’t like Acuras 2016-2019 6 cylinder rod bearing recalls where we’re pulling rod caps, then taking pictures of the bearings sending those pictures to techline… then a person will call you and tell you what size bearings to put in the engine without measuring anything.

Yikes.

My daily is a DI SkyActiv.. after every oil change I should really be doing an italian tune-up. We idle and low RPM these types of engines way too much. Mazda might have done some magic with their heat management to help burn off deposits, but I'm sure it could use a good, hard run at 4k for 20mins around the highways.
At least my vac is still 20-21.

I had been hearing (and my hearing is not the best) a swoosh, swoosh, swooshing sound in my belt area of my DD 2002 Saturn SC2. I figured it was an Idler Pulley or the tensioner pulley so I put her on the lift to check it out. I pulled the passenger wheel off for a better view and started wiggling pulleys, trying to find the source of the sound. I didn't find anything until I got to the water pump. Man that thing was all kinds of wobbly so I preceeded to tackle it. WHAT A bi***. No room to work (just like a DSM) and I ended up having to remove the AC compressor (but not unhooking it) to get to the pump. About 3 hrs later no noise and a New belt too, since it all has almost 90k on it from when I rebuilt it back in 2017, I think. She purrs like a kitten again and gets 35mpg! It cost me $40 for the pump and $30 for the new belt for a total of $70. My son works as a mechanic at a local shop so I had him pull the labor time and it was 2.5 to 3 hrs, so I saved about $300. (Shops here charge at least $100/hr). HURRAY!!!! :thumb:

Good for you! I have bad knees also but I love running. The thing that's helped my knees more than anything was starting to lift heavier, specifically squats. Building up those muscles that support the knee makes a world of difference.

Also, I have a Concept 2 rowing machine that I use several times a week. It's an awesome full body workout that's low impact.

I'm honestly afraid of doing squats. I think I actually tore ligament(s) in my left knee years ago and never got it looked at. I think that's a big contributor to my swelling when I run. I can just be standing there and my knee will "kick out" and I have to catch myself so I don't fall.

If I'm my desk for an extended time when I go to stand up I have to physically straighten my leg, then the first few steps are a little rough, then it's "normal"
