slim fan dont turn on unless sensor is unplugged

I recently put on a slim fan on my 2g. I used to harness from the passanger side. Everything is wired fine. But the fan doesn't come on unless I dissconnect the coolant temp sensor. When I do that he fan comes on right away. If I connect the sensor back the fan keeps going. Recently had a cold start problem. I changed the coolant temp sensor and it fixed that problem. Could it be a bad sensor that I put in?

the sensor keeps it turned off until it gets to temp then lets power through, replace the sensor, its bad

Wondering if anyone knows the part number for a 2g cooloant temp sensor? Im trying to get an OEM sensor.

I just got the new sensor. I installed it and same thing it struggles on a cold start. Fan turns on though. Md 182467 is the part number. I also notcied that when i drive the car for a while. (had a 50 mile trip ) When i shut it off and turned it back on it struggled to stay on for a litttle while. What could be causing this?
