Im starting to build my 1gA and I need ideas for what kind of engine bay setup I want. So feel free to post your engine bays in here (1g or 2g)

I'm trying to keep everything stock/OEM+ as possible. Since my car is fully OEM.

I'm wont be deleting anything (other than EGR and emissions) so I'd love to see how you guys upgraded your cars without taking features away.

Are you asking for engine bay pics where others have kept everything stock, or anything goes (not helping you get ideas for keeping things stock).

If you're keeping it all stock, basically you're stuck with MAF, a 16g-style turbo, a SMIC, and a DSM intake manifold. Once you depart from any of those, the engine bay looks very different.

What are your overall power goals? That will also dictate what you need. But generally a 2G MAF, ecmlink, 750+ injectors, supra side mount, and a 16g will all look similar to factory where it counts

Anything goes really. Just trying to see what people have done.
But I wont be keeping my MAF, going to hard intercooler piping and a ETS front mount. (Hense the OEM+) Other than that I'm keeping all the piping routed through the OEM locations to make it all reversible.
I don't care that it doesnt look 100% stock. But I want it to be as stock looking as possible if that makes sence.

The car is getting a Built 6 bolt with a FP red with supporting mods. Hoping for low 500 hp to answer your question.

I decided to take on the "OEM+" theme after already picking up a FMIC and doing piping, but been working some finer details since then. I have my FPR mounted low and out of sight on my firewall, the old MAF removed and plug blocked off, I'm working on 3D printing new strut covers to hide the top of my FEAL coilovers. Small things to make it looks mostly stock at first glance (minus IC piping..).

Yeah I just looked at your build. Its pretty much exactly what I'm going for, for the most part. Still looking for a clean set of EDM corners.
And just freshening up everything else in the engine bay.

Very nice!!!

Very nice guys.

I can tell you this, any 1ga that's been a non garage car with miles doesn't have as nice an engine bay.

The amount of time it'll take after I pull the engine to clean it up will be a lot, then to paint it alone we'll be a task, then assemble with clean parts and bolts etc etc. Ouch

A super clean engine bay is one of the most challenging aspects of a nice car and restoration.
