Here is a full gallery of pictures I took throughout my build up of the stereo.... CLICK HERE

and here is a sort of step by step tutorial of the pics and what I was doing... CLICK HERE

Hope this helps you. You can see in some of the pics the beginnings of the box looked pretty rough because I didnt' build the proper framework to fiberglass around to the side walls with but in the end it ended up looking good... .just made myself some more work and sanding.. LOL

Did you mold the box flush with the side hatch panels? I'm trying to figure out how i'm going to do that when i get to the point. I dont think any wood would be flexible enough to get the curve i want.. maybe cardboard and bondo..

Looks awesome man. Makes me wish i had a better system to work with.. but i guess ya have to start somewhere.

Is that the spare under your boxes?

My spare tire is under the boxes... but it can come out easily... I designed it so that I could still get my spare out, just in case I ever needed it. I am in the process of making a fiberglass amp rack right now, but I have been too busy lately to work on it. I boxes were pretty simple to make too. Its the finishing thats killing me.

I stretched cloth from the sides of the box over and attached it to the side hatch panel with duct tape. It would work better with a hot glue gun but I didn't have one. I then coated it in resin. One thing you need to be sure of is that you have some kind of temporary support structure underneath the part you stretch across or it will sag down once you put resin on it.

If you are worried about the fiberglass sticking to your hatch panels cover them with aluminum foil so no resin can get on them.

i might a well yank my donut out, my rims are too big, so if anything i'd have to use a stock wheel, that wont fit, so i'll just take it all outta there

I have yet to cover mine. I have a few tweaks to make first though. I need to modify the wiring so that there isn't 3 feet of coiled crap on the side. I also have to add a little polyfil to the enclosure section and build a cover for the amps.

wow, those little metal corners would never hold my box down, its like a bull kicking around in there in my trunk when the sub gets going.:D ;)

Do you have any pics of that box in the hatch... I am kinda wondering how it sits in there... thanks..

If your talking to me... it sits on the lip in the trunk up against the seats with the subs facing towards the hatch glass. ill try and get some pics of it

If anyone has a box or customer setup for a 1G GST I'd be interested. I have a Sony 12" sub, exactly like Chadillac's, the top of line one. (Although it is Sony, so middle of the line for everyone else:shhh: )

yeah its not bad, but i just got a new rear strut bar and now the box doesnt fit standing up how i had it. now i have to kind of lay it back to fit under the bar. it still doesnt look to bad like that but i think im going to get rid of it and start something else. Anyone want it??:thumb:

whats the volume on that box? it looks kinda small, not too deep

The actual enclosure is smaller than the entire box. With the speaker and a little polyfil, it will be a tad over 1 cubic foot.

that looks exactly like mine, except my sub is in the floor board part in the hatch, where the spare tire used to be, and my sub amp is where your sub is, i'm showing it off, alpine amps are so nice, i think, and now i'm going to have to build something kinda like that on both sides to for my other 2 amps. oh yea, i know what you mean about the strut bar, my amp is very close to it.

still need to finish a little trimwork in the 2nd pic, but you get the idea. i plan on doing one 12" Alpine Type-X sub next spring. but for now, the 2- 10's will suffice

thanks for looking!

Here is my box. Not any fancy fiberglass, but it hits really hard and I like it. But it will be coming out soon, because it slows me down to much. Damn thing weighs a ton.:dsm:

Damn I loved those Premier subs, they were the hardest hitting subs I'd ever heard, Until I installed flame q's in my wifes ride.
I actually tried hunting down a set but to no avail, noone is selling used or recond.
