I'm getting ready to drop some w7's in the back and i was wanting to see what everyone else has done, to give me an idea, i was thinkin about maybe doin some plexiglass :dsm: with red lights behind it... what do ya think ??? give me some ideas fellas !!

Have you heard the W7's? What size W7's are you looking at? Why do you want W7's? What kind of music do you listen to? Do you want super sound quality? Huge SPL? Or a mix of both?

I ask these questions, because there is soo much hype about W7's and I believe they are way overpriced and overrated. Only the very rich and or very very serious about audio should buy them IMO.

Check out www.reaudio.com the XXX in particular, it will kill a W7 in SPL, and about the same SQ.

www.adireaudio.com the Brahma, it will also kill a W7 in SPL and has about the same SQ.
www.edesignaudio.com their woofers are also very compitent.

There are many other woofers that will compete with W7's but at about half the price.

As for an eclosure, I would go fiberglass or plexi would be good also.

i just did what you are thinking except in my 1G. it has a MDF frame w/ a plexi middle and subs built into the plexi. the amp is mounted on the new false floor, and everything is on hinges so i can still get my spare. I am ordering some red neons for the bottom of the frame to light it up too. Also, this isn't in the picture, but the top layer is now wired to the hatch and pulls up to angle the whole thing when the hatch is open. here's a pic:

Here's a pic of my 12w7 install, just to give you an idea of what kind of space can be had. That box was 2.5 cu.ft. total before i filled it in some. One 12w7 on about 1200-1300W hits hard as hell in these things, it would be super overkill to put more than one in. (not to mention a waste of money). With that said, i probably could have gotten away easily with a 10w7, but I'd wanted a 12w7 for like a year and a half... :D

P.S. no laughing at my wire madness.... :p

I would suggest to all to mount the amps you get to the back seat. It looks cleaner and you still have some trunk space. Then you can fit an enclosure back there more easily. Thats if your going for a daily driver setup. If you are going show and are actually going to be in shows then you should do a fiber glass set up with floating subs and amps. Make sure that the brand names are clearly visable aswell because it makes it look alot nicer.
