Should my oil pump do this?

I ordered a new oil pump the sprocket shaft was sticking through both boxes it was packed in. Is it suppose to sound like the videos if you turn the shaft without a balance shaft or stubby shaft in it?

Yes, kinda.

when you put the stub/balance shaft in it will still be loud but wont sound like its in self destruct mode.

As you do that, the driven gear is bouncing around galling the aluminum housing, because no shaft is supporting it.

Stop doing that. As stated the driven gear isnt supported right now. No you shouldnt have hurt anything but its not a good idea. If you want to look take the cover off

Thanks guys and I only did it once before I made the videos. I'm waiting on a reply from the company I bought it from and then I might remove the cover and see what the damage is or measure and see what the specs are.
